Breaks between books/chapters

In class on Sunday we finished the book of 2nd Timothy. That's when I noticed that there is no visual break between one book at the next. It was kind of a shocker to see the two just flowing together with no break as if they were the same letter.

I think there should be a distinct visual break between books. After all, they are distinct documents which have been collected together. And that break can be used to display book introductions, etc., in the related reference tool if one is being displayed.

There are also times when I think it would be nice to have a similar break between chapters, such as when I'm following along in church. There are other times when I'm glad there is no break between chapters; because they have been artificially inserted later. In fact, I've sometimes wished for the option to read passages without any chapter and verse markings artificially breaking up the flow.

Hi Ed,

it's easy enough to turn off the chapter and verse markings in Accordance. If you go to "Set Text Display" (CMD-T is the easy way to get there). Click the advanced tab, and in the drop down in the references section select "Omit Entire Reference"

I like this idea, and it's been brought up before in relation to chapter and book headings. But, this seems a lot easier to accommodate as a display preference. Maybe others can comment regarding that.

Hi Ken,

This request is for the iOS version, not the desktop version.

I found "Paragraphs with Space" as the best setting for me. Tap on the aA button > All Display Settings > Show: "Paragraphs with Space" > If you wish you can scroll down and make this your default view for that translation. Otherwise, just tap on the Save button in the top right corner. That's it. Works nicely with NRSVS.
