It is the most precious commentary I own.
It opens my eyes to new ideas and possibility. Often I dont like them, or I consider them wrong, but nevertheless they stretch my understanding of the Bible.

I like a lot some books of the set, and I love when they tell you the history of the interpretation of some passages i.e. parables.
Love it love it love it

I appreciate a lot its depth with simplicity and clear exposition. It goes to hebrew language without making me tired of it, and in a few lines it gives a lot of insight.

Whenever I read or study the book of Jude, I jump to the pseudepigrapha book of Enoch and of Moses' ascension, to see how much Jude has quoted from there. It doesnt make Jude less biblical, not less than Jesus saying "do to others what you want others do to you" already existing as a negative old saying at his time.
If you want to see the greek quote of Jude, it is a right module

Reading Leviticus was tedious always. With this version finally it is more clear some distinctive ideas in offering for peace (shalom), redeem, forgiveness, and so.
I am sorry we dont have more schocken-version of Bible books

It's the clearest and easiest text to compare textual differences between NT translations. I suggest to buy it whenever you want to understand why NIV (or whatever) reads differently from KJV (or whatever). Without deep understanding of greek, and without wasting precious time.

As an example, in Jude 22-23 you find how many different ways you can interpret the passage about mercy and fear - precious to know it
