Personal Information
You can browse the AccordanceBible website freely without entering any personal information, and OakTree will not record any personal details from your visit. When you open an account you may enter as much information as you wish, but most fields must be completed in order to place an online order. You can modify your online account information at any time.
Your account information is stored on a secure site and accessible only to select OakTree personnel. Your password is encrypted and cannot be retrieved by anyone, hence if you forget it you must request a new password be sent to your registered email address.
OakTree uses the information you enter to fulfil any orders that you place, or to contact you with a question relating to an order. We never sell this information or pass it on to any other entity. We send rare announcements (once or twice a year) to all registered users. Unless you sign up for our newsletter, you will receive no other unsolicited emails from OakTree. You may email us at any time to request that your address be removed from either email.
Cookies
Like all websites that have online shopping and personal accounts, the Accordance website uses cookies to allow our visitors to sign in to their accounts once and then have access to their shopping cart features for the duration of their visit. When you visit our site, your web browser accepts a small text file, popularly called a cookie. In that text file is a unique ID we assign to your computer, the name of our website (so that no one else can access it), and a number that tells your computer that this cookie will expire the next time you close your browser. That cookie ID matches a session ID on our server. When you sign in to your account our web pages know which account information online belongs to you. Cookies are just a secure way of restricting account information to the proper owners who have validly signed in to our site. Cookies are not used to gather any information from visitors. Any private information you see on our site is entered willingly by you, and it is stored in our secure databases, not in your cookie. The cookie only stores the unique session ID which you have established with our server, therefore they cannot be accessed by any other website. Your information is protected.
Security Features
The success of our business depends on our customers confidence in their privacy and security. This is very important to us and we utilize the latest encryption technology and security features on our website to ensure that your information remains safely protected. We also do not store your credit card information online. Once your order has been processed, the credit card information is deleted. This creates a slight inconvenience for our customers, since they have to enter their credit card information each time they order something new, but we feel that is a small price to pay for the assurance of security.
If you have any questions about these policies, please contact us.
Software Piracy
Software piracy is the illegal sale or use of software and takes many forms. The software or electronic media you purchase does not belong to you, it is licensed for use on a single computer.
OakTree has always allowed you freely to install the software on more than one personal computer for your own use. We have therefore avoided harrassing you with rigid anti-piracy technologies that prevent re-installation.
However, the following are illegal uses of our software and modules, and constitute infringment of our copyright and that of the licensors of the modules:
When you contact OakTree for an upgrade, we may attempt to verify that your copy of Accordance is legitimate. We reserve the right to refuse to support or upgrade users of illegal copies of our software.
Please contact us if you become aware of attempts to distribute pirate copies of Accordance.
