Best Commentaries

The BestCommentaries.com website run by John Dyer offers a valuable resource for the student of Scripture. He manages a comprehensive list of commentaries on the Bible, especially of multi-volume series. Volumes are given tags defining the type such as technical or devotional. Many volumes are rated based on other published listings and by members of the site. Links are provided to sellers of the volumes, both hard copy and software, and now also to Accordance! My only criticism is that with so much data the pages can load rather slowly.

Here are some screenshots to whet your appetite.

This page ranks the major commentary series volume by volume:

This page shows the "top" two commentaries for each Bible book:

Here you can see more details on each commentary on each book:

In summary, this site will prove helpful to anyone who is trying to find good commentaries on specific books. Thankfully we have many of the best series already in Accordance: Word, Hermeneia, NAC, NIVAC, EBC, Pillar, NIGTC, Tyndale...... And we are about to release the HOTC and HNTC, and working on NICOT and NICNT.

Very helpful post, but the best news I saw in this was "and working on the NICOT and NICNT."

Any ideas on why the services from bestcommentaries.com reflect "services unavailable" when you attempt to open their website.  It's a great resource.

NICNT is almost ready, and NICOT is well under way, so should be released long before the end of the year.
