I Could Tell You, But Then I'd Have To . . .

Blogging has been difficult this week. Not because I don't know what to talk about, but because I'm dying to discuss a soon-to-be-released update to Accordance, and I just can't tell you about it yet. I've spent much of this week beta-testing a MAJOR new feature which you will soon be able to download for free, along with a truckload of other features and enhancements. There will be so much to talk about when 7.2 is released that I'm finding it hard to write about current features. Fortunately, you and I should only have to wait a little bit longer.

While we wait for this free update to be released, let me remind you of another opportunity to get more for less. This entire month, we've been offering a Customer Appreciation Sale with big discounts on our most popular packages and modules. The sale ends Monday, so if you haven't taken advantage of it yet, now is the time to do it. Think how much fun it will be to play with new modules and new features at the same time!

That is just plain cruel...

On the theological journals listed on the sale page, I've got two questions:

1. Will there be an upgrade price for people who already own Vols. 1-6?

2. Will this update merge journals with multiple modules, such as Masters and Masters-1 into simply Masters containing all the articles for all the journal covered?

You're such a tease!! :)

The upgrade for TJL 1-5 will not include vol 6, and will have minor fixes only. Probably we will sell it for $10 to those who have version 7 and a previous release of TJL 1-5.

David, I think you should just go ahead and spill the beans! I mean...what's it going to hurt? It will create an advance buzz for 7.2. The world will be watching! So, tell us!

Going out on a limb... and guessing that the major new feature is a Universal Binary!

I agree with Rick. Well, mostly because I'm impatient when it comes to surprises.

Boy, I'm sorry for causing so much angst and consternation! Rest assured that I wouldn't tease you like this if 7.2 weren't very close to release.

As far as the guessing is concerned, the major new feature is not a Universal Binary version of Accordance. We are working on that, but it's still a little way away.

Oh, and for the record, I would never call a Universal version of Accordance a major new feature. It will be a significant upgrade, but it won't add any new functionality to the program. No, when I mention a major new feature, I'm talking about being able to do things you can't do right now.

7.2 will actually offer lots of goodies, and it won't be that long in coming. So relax and enjoy your weekend! ;-)

Nothing to do with version 7.2 but I posted a question on the forums and got no answer so I'm trying again!

Could a future blog post possibly cover the difference in treatment of the gospels in the Parallels module i.e. difference between synoptics, gospels and harmony? I'm sure myself and many users would get more out of this module if we understood the differences!

Thanks in great anticipation - almost as great as the anticipation for Acc version 7.2!

Laurel Bryan.

Okay, you said last week to relax and enjoy our weekend...which I took to mean that we might see 7.2 earleir this week. But it's been a week.

Can you at least give us a descriptive preview?
