    Poll: Light or Dark Mode?

Canyon and light mode are my preferred combination. Dark mode reminds me of those days with black background and green ASCII characters on terminals of my past—oh my! —Joseph

    Poll: Light or Dark Mode?

I have tried dark mode, but greatly still prefer light. Not a theme guy.

full screen bug (maybe old news?)

Yeah. Leaving full screen also over extends, but that's not entirely abnormal. Windows can push out however you like, typically. The issue I'm concerned with is full screen, where it's supposed to stay 'in bounds'. The problem recurs when I swipe from desktop or another FS app to the accordance space. Once I click in the app and begin working it resizes. Maybe the screen recording can help illustrate. Oh. Also, if I open control center or some other menu from the menubar (other than the 'three dots' of bartender), accordance will also snap back into proper size. Also, this is not an artifact of bartender. It's been happening for longer than I've been running that app. Screen Recording 2024-04-23 at 06.37.07.mov
  9. @Dr. Nathan Parker This instance of Accordance is now completely unusable. The application doesn't even launch without safe mode, and it hangs in safe mode. I've emailed tech support and am awaiting a reply. This bug is surprising because 14.0.9 had been fairly stable for me. I suspect the problem is related to the library & Easy Install issues I've seen reported recently on the forums.

    Poll: Light or Dark Mode?

I often spend double digit hours on screens each day. Dark mode is MUCH easier on my eyes over a long period.

    perfect. Thanks

    Poll: Light or Dark Mode?

I prefer light mode because it is easier on the eyes, in my opinion. As far as theme, I used Spanish Moss (I think that is what it is called). I find it aesthetically pleasing.

    Poll: Light or Dark Mode?

Light mode since it is easier to see. Canyon since it is the least distracting. I found several of the other themes very pretty, but Canyon makes it easier to concentrate on my work.

    Poll: Light or Dark Mode?

Do you run Accordance in Light Mode or Dark Mode, and if so, why? If you also use a particular color theme in Accordance, which one do you use and why?

Library bug, Accordance crashing in safe-mode

I thought they had to email me a certain file or something along those lines. I can't remember exactly.

Any Updates on PDF Import Tool

We post all app update notes under "Accordance Announcements" when we have them (to ensure everyone can easily see them). We don't have any specifics on this at the moment, but keep watching there for updates.
  17. This was urgent, so I tried calling the support line. They were too busy to take my call. If you have it with you, could you please post the solution they suggested to you?

  20. It's been a while since I've used Accordance due to school and life. Is there any change in the problems associated with uploading PDFs in Accordance 14?
  21. Dr. Nathan Parker

    3 different Accordance Files folders.

You can temporarily move all of them outside of iCloud (maybe on the Desktop), then drag back in the one you want to use, then launch Accordance. It should then prompt you to locate the Accordance Files folder, and once you choose it, it should be the correct one.

full screen bug (maybe old news?)

Thanks! Is it happening when you go in or out of Full Screen? Going in Full Screen so far so good for me. Going out of Full Screen does stretch the workspace for me, but I think that's because it was created on a larger display than mine.

Library bug, Accordance crashing in safe-mode

Email Tech Support on this one. I also encountered a similar issue once, and I believe they emailed me something to get it working.

    Which version of the septuagint?

I used Archive.org somewhat in seminary since I was a remote student. It is useful for hard-to-find works or works I didn't want to have shipped to me from the library.

    Which version of the septuagint?

I do try to avoid open piracy, as a Christian, but yes, archive.org is legit. My hard copies are now scanned into my computer as searchable and portable pdfs. I have wondered if there are similar works available for the rest of the OT, of course by other authors. Some of the commentary sets have some good technical notes, but in my opinion they do not equal Wevers works. I found some by Pietersma on Psalms (A Commentary on the Text as Produced), although I have not delved into them yet. Any pointers to works like Wevers for the other books would be appreciated. I am willing to pay for quality ... but free is of course better yet!
  26. System: Windows 11, Accordance 11.0.9 I tried to access Word Biblical Commentary but the two icons in the library for this resource (left panel after clicking the open book icon in the icon ribbon) appeared colourless and wouldn't open. Easy Install shows no resources and no updates, whether free or paid. I saved the workspace, quit Accordance, and reopened Accordance in Safe Mode. This is what I got: Nothing I click in Accordance works, not even the 'x' to close Accordance. I'd rather not reinstall Accordance from scratch. What can I do to get it working again?

    Which version of the septuagint?

No harm or shame pointing to Internet Archive where you can read a few of Wevers' works including his notes on Exodus. https://archive.org/search?query=creator%3A"Wevers%2C John William"

    Prepositional phrase search

The better way is to use the Greek Construct search. (I think this is correct! I am trying to eliminate as many false hits as possible, but I may have inadvertently blocked some true hits. Some of the results do depend on how the syntax structure was defined, and that complicates matters.) Try this: Do note what you need to do when you first add the Phrase. If we only want the actual object of the preposition, you need to specify contiguous, depth of 1, and not allowing hits with sub-clauses. (All of this is trying to eliminate instances like Matt 23.39: ἐν ὀνόματι κυρίου where κυριος is not the object of the preposition.) The depth of the preposition can be 6 or more (play around with that). The depth of the lexeme is 1 to again try to just get objects of the preposition. I get 79 hits, but there are still some false hits. (Acts 9.27. Eph 6.5. Why?) Someone else may be able to refine this further, but that's a start.
