Library bug, Accordance crashing in safe-mode
Lawrence replied to Lawrence's topic in Bug Reports: Windows
Update: they asked me to try: * safe mode + "Remove Startup Session" * safe mode + "Remove Startup Session" + "Remove General Settings". I tried both. Accordance crashed with the first, and it produced an "Accordance Error!" at the Easy Install step for the second after I clicked on "Updates" and then back on "Easy Install" when no resources showed up. The Easy Install window was still live (the error popup wasn't a modal dialogue), and I clicked "Download All". After the downloads, I clicked "OK" in the "Accordance Error!" window as it recommended, and Accordance quit with a DOS-style error page. Accordance launched, producing a messed-up workspace like the one I posted at the start of this thread. Clicking on the library icon toggled the library menu, but it appeared as a column in the middle of the window, not on the left in its usual place. Trying to open a new workspace didn't work. After closing the app, I tried to reopen it but it no longer launches when clicking on the Accordance icon in Windows. -

Poll: Light or Dark Mode?
Accordance Enthusiast replied to Dr. Nathan Parker's topic in Tips for Users
I use light mode because dark mode is not neat at all on Windows. I would love to use dark mode if it actually works. - Yesterday

Thanks! I've alternated between the two. For Accordance itself, Light Mode is pretty good (although so is Dark Mode, especially on the Mac app). The rest of the Mac UI I prefer Dark mode as Light Mode on newer macOS releases is too light. On Windows, Light Mode still seems to be a decent shade. Honestly, I prefer the color scheme of Mac OS X Tiger, Leopard, or Snow Leopard plus iOS 6 or before. It was a good balance between light and dark, and I never remembered complaining of eye strain.

3 different Accordance Files folders.

Keep me posted how it goes. -
I just tested this on my MacBook Air following your video. I can reproduce it. I don't know how we handle workspace-type stuff, but I'll ask around on this one and see if there's any kind of answer I can provide.

Robb B started following NICOT and WBC updates
-
I have the NICOT30, 9 revised and WBCNT25, 5 revised. I only see 8 revised and 3 revised, respectively, in my library. What am I missing? Screenshots attached. I believe I have upgraded these sets with every revision from the very beginning 1.0 release, so I should have all volumes. I will delete the NICOT 29/7 once I make sure I won't lose anything...
-
My favorite commentary series is the NICOT/NT.
-
Always light mode. On every app.
-
It's been said before. Accordance often seems darker than other macOS dark mode apps. Better than Logos' dark mode though, which is a weird bluish hue.
-
Dollar for dollar the SIL series has payed the greatest dividends for me.
-
On Win 11: Dark mode makes it hard to see some things. I usually use Canyon Theme. But I do also customize my text displays for various versions to darken them a bit.
-
I use Canyon (with slight modification) during the day, and after sunset use dark (again with slight moderation). I have my fonts set to gray both day and night.
-
light mode - spanish moss - dark mode and accordance don't do it for me - I would love a couple of extra themes though

Shower of New Releases Continues
Anthony Estes replied to Dr. Nathan Parker's topic in Accordance Announcements
So excited to see LifeGuide stuff here. Hope to see more. And hope to see workbook support in Accordance mobile. -
Customized Tuscany or Canyon in light mode. I don't care for the dark mode.

Mike Atnip started following Poll: Light or Dark Mode?

Light mode, although most of my other software I run in dark. The icons are weird in Accordance dark mode, and for reasons I cannot explain, it is harder for me to use than light mode. Maybe a good designer could do whatever tweaks it would take to get the tones right; it just feels odd to me for some reason. So I run light mode.

What is Your Favorite Commentary?
Brian K. Mitchell replied to Dr. Nathan Parker's topic in Tips for Users
Yes, and this is precisely what I like about his commentary. Metzger's commentary gives me an insider's view of the UBS/NA textual committee and allows me to almost experience the process that the committee went through. I can gain a better understanding of the various opinions and maybe even discussions the committee had. -
Canyon and light mode are my preferred combination. Dark mode reminds me of those days with black background and green ASCII characters on terminals of my past—oh my! —Joseph
