Question About Ancient Near Eastern Texts

Is the Ancient Near Eastern Texts the one published by Princeton? Also, does anyone have any pictures of page scans of the print edition? We're looking into this now and trying to see what it would involve to get this one into publication. We're new to working with Princeton, but we're looking into it. Thanks!

User Bibles and/or User Notes for Android?

Adding it to Cloud (plus our new Android app) is good feedback. Thanks for that!

Journals or Christian Periodicals You Read

Thanks for these! Christian History is one I also read. I may also write an article or blog article for them.

    Do you use Homebrew?

    @jlm Wow! I didn't know this did exist. :-)

Holmstedt’s “Biblical Hebrew Syntax: A Linguistic Introduction”

General rule. We don't have a pre-pub system in place at the moment, so the publisher would need to send us the e-files, and we'd build it and release it in one of our weekly sales when we'd make an official announcement (although if I hear it's in-progress, I can update here).

οὐθὲν Not Highlighted in Search Results

@Ken Simpson An Accordance user sent this URL to me, so I pasted what he sent. This is the one I also emailed to you. Here was your response in the email. Also posting it here so customers will have it. Thanks for this search string! To find οὐθὲν he would either need to enclose οὐθὲν in quotes OR have οὐθὲισ@[ADJECTIVE neuter accusative]

Journals or Christian Periodicals You Read

I pasted this previously any/some of these please - plus the ones Brian listed - noting journal of Hebrew Scriptures on both... for me it is about getting more academic content as opposed to faith and/or application of which you do carry quite a bit

could you consider adding Siri voices under "Settings for speech"?

ah i see. good to know. many thanks.
  14. Here you will find the LXX's version of Obadiah 1:2 along with the Hebrew Bible version. This time around the LXX and the Hebrew Bible are basically parallel. And as this week Chat GPT did the parsing for both the LXX and the Hebrew Bible. What do you think of ChatGPT's parsing? ἰδοὺ: Interjection, "behold" or "see" ὀλιγοστὸν: Adjective, accusative singular neuter of ὀλίγοστος (little, small) δέδωκά: Verb, perfect indicative active, first person singular of δίδωμι (I give) σε: Pronoun, accusative singular second person, "you" ἐν: Preposition, "in" or "among" τοῖς: Article, dative plural masculine of ὁ (the) ἔθνεσιν: Noun, dative plural masculine of ἔθνος (nation, Gentiles) ἠτιμωμένος: Verb, perfect participle middle/passive nominative singular masculine of ἀτιμόω (I dishonor) σὺ: Pronoun, nominative singular second person, "you" εἶ: Verb, present indicative active, second person singular of εἰμί (to be) σφόδρα: Adverb, "greatly" or "very" הִנֵּה (hinneh): Interjection, "behold" or "see" קָטֹן (qaton): Adjective, masculine singular נְתַתִּ֖יךָ (netattikha): Verb, perfect, first person singular, "I have given you" בַּ (ba): Preposition, "in" גּוֹיִ֑ם (goyim): Noun, masculine plural, "nations" בָּז֥וּי (bazu): Noun, masculine singular, "despised" אַתָּ֖ה (attah): Pronoun, "you" (emphasized) מְאֹֽד (me'od): Adverb, "greatly" or "very"

    Do you use Homebrew?

I use homebrew to quickly install programs and keep them up to date. I don’t have to go to a website, find a download link, download, and install: I just type “brew install chrome”. Homebrew is particularly attractive to me because I use the command line a lot and write scripts. It may be less attractive to others who prefer a GUI. @Dr. Nathan Parker not only could it be called “mas”, it is called “mas”: https://github.com/mas-cli/mas (I haven’t used this, however.)

Journals or Christian Periodicals You Read

Sure, here are a few I read: (1) Journal of Hebrew Scriptures https://jhsonline.org/index.php/jhs (2) Hebrew Union College Annual https://press.huc.edu/huca/ (3) The Jewish Bible Quarterly https://jbqnew.jewishbible.org (4) Beit Mikra: Journal for the Study of the Bible and Its World

Journals or Christian Periodicals You Read

    Christian History magazine.
  18. Does that mean Accordance will carry it, then (at a date soon after publication)? Or are you just stating a general rule?

οὐθὲν Not Highlighted in Search Results

@Ken Simpson, I think Nathan did a Copy as Search URL in his search bar to generate that string, and Accordance seems to encode spaces as underscores in the final URL.

    Wi-Fi Calling

    All the time!
  22. It speaks for itself. For me, user Bibles is a much higher priority than user notes. (I don't want my notes trapped in a proprietary format in buggy software.) Regardless, we should expect the cloud version to provide both of these features for mobile users, but I'd guess that this is still years away.
  23. Ken Simpson

οὐθὲν Not Highlighted in Search Results

Why do you have the underscore before and after the search terms?
  24. Do you leave Wi-Fi Calling on your iPhone all the time, or just some of the time, or none of the time? Thanks!

Journals or Christian Periodicals You Read

I'm curious if there are any journals or Christian periodicals that any Accordance users regularly read (even in print or other online forms)? Thanks!

    Which version of the septuagint?

Don’t forget the St. Athanasius Academy Septuagint that comes with the Orthodox Study Bible.
