How to copy from analysis display

@npena83 I might suggest an alternative way to get the information you're looking for (to copy and paste): How about something like this? Here are the step to get the list above: 1. Search for all the verbs in 1 John (as you have done). 2. Select all of the hit verses. 3. Choose: Amplify > Language > Parsing (which will open a tab in a new zone). 4. Choose: Display > Set Parsing Display… 5. Change to dropdown for "Parse" to "Hit words only" 6. Uncheck every box except "Tags" (or optionally any other information) HTH

What is Your Favorite Study Bible?

I'm another MacArthur Study Bible person. I wish Dr. White had the time to make one!
  5. I'm one of the Wordsearch users who figured I would always have the affordable crossgrade offer. Sadly, the offer ended before I could take advantage of it. However, I appreciate this list! I've been using Accordance for quite a while, and unfortunately my skills are still "Newby" territory. This will help, thanks.

    New Feature

Michael Erickson is requesting a new feature that will automatically tell the user how many modules they have installed in their library. He says other Bible Software apps have that feature and feels we should have as well.
  8. Any idea how to find the word count in secondary sources? I use the asterisk * in primary texts, and it works in those cases. Thanks!

    Apple Watch Question

Bought two SEs recently, one for me and mother. Mother loves hers, especially Snoopy watch face. I love that it tracks her heart rate, the Rescu app is also on her wrist, and there's fall detection if she needs it. For me, tracking my heart rate is also great, plus the stand reminders are a big help when I'm sitting too long. Also have a weather and radar widget on my wrist so I can glance at a weather update and move on. Also love that I'm using my iPhone a lot less. I can glance at notifications on my wrist, then decide if I need to act on it now or wait until later instead of grabbing my phone every time and "rabbit trailing" with it. Crazy question: Is there anything you could think of that would benefit you by having an Accordance app on Apple Watch? Disclaimer: We have not even remotely discussed this in any official capacity. Just as a means of a "thinking out loud brainstorm", it'd be interesting to hear some thoughts. I can't come up with any off the top of my head, but others may have different feedback.

    What is Mac Scripting?

I haven't gotten into Shortcuts yet. How have you used it where you previously used Automator?

    What is Alfred 5?

I need to see if LaunchBar does this. This would be huge for me as well.
  12. Bash since I had a weather script that required it.
  13. I haven't yet. :-)

How to copy from analysis display

@npena83 It might not be exactly what you're looking for, but you can get a single lexeme parsing via a right-click -> copy-as -> instant details.
  15. @Brian K. Mitchell This framework is new to me. It looks interesting, but I think I prefer a more standard and minimalist setup. Unless I'm doing something specific that requires a lot of heavy-lifting by frameworks, it's usually quicker to just program up a shell script as needed (compared to learning a new framework), using whichever shell was loaded straight out of the box.
  16. I like csh, but that's just because I learned the script syntax when messing around with it at uni 'way back when'. These days, I mostly just use whatever the system defaults to - probably zsh or bash.

How to define search ranges that work?

@mtpeterson It's a bit of a weird setup, but you need to use the "+" button on the right of the search bar, not the "[range ...]" command within the main search bar. Here's an example. I've linked to the Accordance instruction video at the bottom of this message. 1. Select Search->Define Range... . Define a range called Test that's just the book of Romans. Click Update and close the Define Ranges dialog box. 2. Search for Paul in the Test range by typing "Paul" in the search bar, clicking the "+" button at the right of the search bar (a new row appears and "+" turns into "x"). 3. Select "Test" from the dropdown. and hit "enter" to search. Accordance instruction video:

How to define search ranges that work?

I understand that. But if I'm not mistaken, you do have to save the new range. Have you tried that?

How to define search ranges that work?

Thanks for the reply, but I am using the define a range from the option menu where the only choices are the <verify> and <update> options.
  20. For Terminal users which shell do you use most often?
  21. Question for Zsh (Z -shell) users: (1) Do you use the framework 'oh my Zsh' with Zsh? (2) If so why? If not why not?
  22. Currently I have the verbs for 1 Jn. and in the analysis I have all the verbs showing it's parsing. I want to know if there is a way to copy and paste this information in a clean way. Currently if I copy and paste there is a lot of tabing and new line characters. And this is what it looks like in a text file: What I would like to see is something more like this: Just one line of the information I want. The purpose behind this is to create flash cards for a book for the purpose of parsing practice. Thanks in advance.

    What is Alfred 5?

another alfred feature I use all the time: toggle low power mode. I'm on an Intel Mac and sometimes I really need full power while on battery. Other times I don't. I can simple key alfred and type <lp> and it toggles low power mode. I don't have to open settings or anything else. Alfred does that (it does open settings; but I don't have to make any change; sometimes I quit settings. Sometimes I let it run because I'm in a workflow and I just don't care). I'm telling you, alfred is amazing.
  24. actually did that just to test how my windows install was working. However, the two libraries took up too much space on my tiny 512gb ssd so I had to uninstall it. New macine will be 1tb. Maybe I'll try it again and post pics.

    What is Mac Scripting?

tbh I don't use scripting or automator anymore. I did. But shortcuts has done all of that much simpler for me.

    What is Alfred 5?

And if you use a lot of shortcuts (I do; over 100 of them custom to my needs), you can run shortcuts directly from alfred. just and then you'll see a list of your shortcuts. You can also make other shortcuts to run a specific shortcut. To me, alfred, bartender, and shortcuts are the killer apps of macOS. BTW, I've come back to alfred because of shortcuts. I used it years ago and then dropped it. I'm now back at it with v5 and will never leave again.

    What is Alfred 5?

alfred haș changed my life. It is like spotlight. Sure. But it's so, so much more. especially if you pay and get the power pack. You can compose emails, control music, send files, create and organize folders, on and on, all from alfred. If you're one who likes to keep their hands on the keyboard rather than back and forth with trackpad/mouse, it can't be beat and is worth 10x what I paid for my use.
