Randy Steffens Jr
I would find it useful if "Automatic Context" could be modified to NOT display context, if a hyphenated range of chapters or verses is searched for. It seems to be more in keeping with the way automatic context works in other situations. For instance, the search John 1:14,15 displays only the searched-for verses. Whereas the search John 1:14-15 displays the entire Bible. Why is this? It seems inconsistent. Thanks, Randy
Paul Meiklejohn
John 1:14-15 will show all verses if the context slider is set to all. The slider is immediately below where you input text. Slide this and it will reveal the context of verse around your search, or as in your case, if it is all the way to the right, it will reveal all verses. ------------------------------------------ n.b. On second reading of your post, you may already be aware of 'context', sorry. Edited July 18, 2013 by Paul Meiklejohn
Randy Steffens Jr
Thanks Paul, yes, I'm aware of the context slider. But I'm specifically talking about the "automatic context" function in preferences. When that option is checked, the slider is automatically positioned to display context, or not display it, depending on the type of search. I would like to see automatic context give me the same context results for these two searches: John 1:14,15 & John 1:14-15 unless there is a convincing reason not to do so. The way it currently works seems inconsistent in this case. Thanks! Randy
