I was wondering why Accordance doesnt have a pre order option or a newsletter about up coming releases? I know that I recently was actually considering purchasing the Anchor bible commentaries from Logos, when it was mentioned in one of the forum posts that it would be coming to Accordance. If I had not seen the post I would have purchased from Logos. I think that although it does create a set of problems all its own, it would be a helpful for those of us who are loyal to Accordance when planning our academic budgets to know what is coming soon.

I fully believe that Accordance is putting all effort into getting the Anchor series out soon. I am not sure they will give us any guestiment as to when it will be released, I personally would love to know since I think New Interpreter's Bible should be next in the cue (although this is just an inference drawn by me from what i have heard). Hopefully anchor is close enough for the staff to say something.

Two reasons: 1) Vaporware; 2) Unforeseen delays.

To elaborate, we do not want to promote items that don't exist. I realize no one is asking that we market or promote them, but it could be construed as that, and we want to avoid this at all cost. We will however announce items that we intend to release in stages once a significant portion is complete (e.g. Syntax, Revised EBC, etc.).

There are inevitably delays in projects, especially larger ones. For example, we actually did something like this a couple years ago and announced LSJ as 'coming soon…' on our New Releases page. At that time we were operating based on information we received, and had every intention of it 'coming soon.' However, that didn't happen and we had to go a totally different route with that resource, which meant we didn't release it until almost 2 years later!

So, my advice is just to ask, either by email or here on the forum, especially if it is about a more popular Biblical studies resource that seems natural for Accordance and is available elsewhere in electronic format. Chances are, we're already working on getting it.

I hope this helps to explain things a bit.

Thanks I understand, as I said creates its own set of problems. Ive worked in sales and marketing most of my life and this approach is just so foreign to me..lol.

It can be very hard for some of us to be patient as we wait for series we want, but I do understand your reasonings…. Just hard not to ask sometimes...
