Linking tabs

I recently attended the basic search training, and in the training it was demonstrated how to link several lexicon tabs together. I cannot duplicate this, when I attempt to use the tie to option it is always grayed out? I have the same texts and lexicons that was used in the training, any ideas? I am attempting to link BDB complete, HALOT, and DCH. Anyone else able to do this?

Don't you hate it when that happens! Happy to help!

Open a Hebrew tagged text (HMT-W4, BHS-T)

Amplify to your default Hebrew tool by triple clicking (for me - HALOT)

Add a pane for DCH - easiest to use the + button next to the tab name

Then repeat for BDB.

Click back in DCH, then select LINK from the SEARCH=>ENTER COMMAND menu item (or press CMD-SHIFT-L)

you will get a little pop up box that allows you to select which tab to LINK to. Select HALOT (if you select HMT or BHS you will get an error as you can only link to a "similar" resource)

repeat for the BDB pane.

Now when you do a new amplify from your hebrew text, all the linked tools will automatically update.

(Just noticed that you used the terminology "tie" - did you mean to tie the tabs together? You can only tie tabs together on things that are organised in the same way - such as a Bible text - the normal way to do what I think you were asking is what I outlined above)
