BUG 10.3.1 - Report a Correction Does not Populate the Subject Field of the Email

I believe at least as of version 9.6.6 on the Mac that the subject field was filled out with contextually relevant information.

Matt, I can't duplicate this. Is there a chance it might be content specific? Can you try just a report on some words from Gen 1:1 in the ASV? Or let me know which content on which you're trying to do a report?

Thanks.

Hi Scott, I just opened Anchor, right-clicked on the word 'Dictionary' and selected 'Report a Correction.' A new email with blank subject line popped up.

(Ditto to the email app question.)

Also, can you do the following for me? Paste this string (as one long line) as a URL into your browser:

mailto:corrections@accordancebible.com?&subject=Eerdmans Dictionary Correction Report - Accordance 10.3.1&body=“EERDMANS”%0D%0AEERDMANS DICTIONARY of the BIBLE (Paragraph 1), Eerdmans Dictionary v###(gdb unparsed remainder:...)###

and let me know if you get the same symptoms.

Hi Scott, I pasted the link you gave and it popped open a new email with a blank subject link. I am using Microsoft Outlook 2010 SP2.

Matt

Interesting and aggravating. I suppose the typical KISS sample:

mailto:no-one@snailmail.com?subject=my subject

doesn't work for you either?

Unfortunately, I don't use Outlook anymore.

The KISS worked.

Matt

I just checked for a 'bang my head on the wall' emoticon. No dice.

OK, Can you try this:

mailto:no-one@snailmail.com?subject=my subject&body=my body

and if that works, back to my Eerdmans original (don't have Anchor installed), sans any fancy quotation-type characters:

mailto:corrections@accordancebible.com?&subject=Eerdmans Dictionary Correction Report - Accordance 10.3.1&body=EERDMANS%0D%0AEERDMANS DICTIONARY of the BIBLE (Paragraph 1), Eerdmans Dictionary

which would be a total guess on my part.

And I appreciate you humoring my attempts at long-distance debugging.

did not work

But, after examining http://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc6068, I noticed that all of the URIs which utilized a subject separated the query component from the path with a '?' not with '?&', so when I modify what you put in to this:

mailto:corrections@accordancebible.com?subject=Eerdmans Dictionary Correction Report - Accordance 10.3.1&body=EERDMANS%0D%0AEERDMANS DICTIONARY of the BIBLE (Paragraph 1), Eerdmans Dictionary

it now works. Hope this helps.
