Command-click to de-select in library

If I am selecting a group of modules in the library all at once, command-click allows me to select ones that are not contiguous (e.g., the first result shown, the fourth result shown, and the seventh result shown). What I cannot get to work is the opposite--if I select eight shown library results, I can't then de-select a single result via command-click.

 

The former behavior makes sense and is expected; the latter is how Finder also works, but the Accordance library sidebar doesn't--could this be implemented in the future?
