davidmedina
I just noticed that my Pillar Commentary is missing some books. Are those books missing because they are not published or because they are not converted into Accordance yet? Will they be available in the future? Thanks
Daniel Francis
Pillar is not a complete series... hopefully they will come to Accordance as they are released. -Dan
davidmedina
I just checked on CBD and noticed that the print version is incomplete too. I upgraded to Advance to get the Christmas special and to get Pillar and was sadden to see that the one in Luke is missing. I just wanted to read the introduction. No biggie. Hopefully it will be available soon.
JonathanHuber
I believe the Luke commentary is being written by James Edwards, who also wrote the Mark commentary, though it hasn't been finished yet and I don't know when it's expected. Julia Falling
A number of the commentary series are incomplete. I would expect Accordance to complete them as the additional volumes become available. Pillar has had more than one release, as has MacArthur's NTC. While MacArthur is nearly complete, Pillar has quite a few missing volumes. Word NT Commentary lacks Acts & 1Corinthians. It can be frustrating when you're digging into a passage and find that a favorite series lacks that particular volume. But it's out of Accordance's control. So we wait. Rick Bennett
Yes, unfortunately we are at the mercy of the publishers for when incomplete series will be finished. We typically get new volumes as they are finished, or shortly after. But, depending on the circumstances we often wait for multiple volumes to release another paid update. In addition, we sometimes get new volumes before other platforms if we are already working on a larger portion of the series.
Abram K-J
A competitor has just announced the addition of Colin Kruse's (2012) Romans volume to its Pillar set. If BestCommentaries.com is correct, they note that there is a 2 Cor volume coming in 2014 and Matthew in 2015. Previous Pillar updates in Accordance have been in batches... I wonder whether we'll see Romans by Kruse as its own addition in Accordance, or if it will be packaged next year or the year after with other new volumes? (Either way--the little use I've made of Kruse was profitable...it's not the best Romans commentary I've ever used, but it's a good one.)
Rick Bennett
We're not opposed to adding a single volume at a time to a series (we're about to release single volume additions to two other series very soon). That said, we have not yet received the Romans volume, but if it is ready for electronic distribution we can get it. It then just becomes a matter of priority. Abram K-J
Okay--thanks, Rick. I'll look forward to seeing what the new updates are.
