jeffhawker
I just watch the podcast #74 and I learned how to create a vocabulary list. However, the number for each word shows occurrences within the specified text. Is there a way to search a specific text and find word occurrences within the whole NT? For example I want to search all the vocabulary in Acts 18-21. When I do so, ginomai shows as occurring 21 times within that section, but I want to see it display the 669 total occurrences in the NT along with the total occurrences for all the other words in Acts 18-
Joel Brown
Hi Jeff! Welcome to the forums! The easiest way I can think of to accomplish this is with a pair of searches. First, build your vocabulary list for Acts 18-21 (my tab on the left). Second, search for the HITS of that tab within your entire text. The HITS command takes the 'hits', that is, the found words of your search and finds them in a new context. So, it will take the relevant vocabulary and find it elsewhere, giving you your desired numbers. Remember to take the Analysis of your right tab if you want the count across the entire text.
