Julie Palmer
Posting for a user: "I love 10.4.0! THANK YOU FOR RETINA SUPPORT!!!!!I'm finding a problem with using full screens mode and tabbing between apps and back. When I'm in a workspace in the full screen mode, I'm noticing two problems:(1) If I do command-tab to exit Accordance temporarily, then come back, it comes back to a different workspace – another one that is not in full-screen mode, rather than the one I was in.(2) If I'm in full-screen mode in a given workspace, the "command- '`' " function to tab between workspaces doesn't work. It's like it is disable. However, it works if I'm in normal view. I'm not sure if the full-screen lack of functionality is supposed to be that way. Related to this, if I'm in full-screen mode and tab out to another app, then back, it comes back to a different workspace, as above. But then if at that point I do "command- '`' " to switch between workspaces, it doesn't recognize the full-screen workspace, only normal-view workspaces. It is as though the full-screen workspace doesn't exist. I have to do "window / click on workspace" at that point to get to the full-screen workspace.I suspect that these two problems are related, since they both occur only with full screen view workspaces.Thank you!Ken HallAfrica Inland MissionAccordance 10.4.0MacBook Pro RetinaOS X 10.9.
Joel Brown
Julie/Ken: I believe both of these actions are deliberate choices by the system. When you place a window into fullscreen, it becomes its own space. This means it doesn't cycle with other non-fullscreen windows. Also, when you command-tab, your system ends up changing spaces to go to the new tab. When you try to go back, since it finds an Accordance window in your current space, the system doesn't try to change your spaces again. I tried all of these behaviors using full-screen Safari, and it behaved the same, so I believe it is standard and expected behavior.
jeremyduncan
Issue (1) is definitely not the way it's supposed to work. Command Tab should work with fullscreen apps exactly the way ti does with any other app moving you to the appropriate space and back. This works fine for me under Accordance 10.4 so you have some sort of bug. Not sure if it's related to the Accordance instal or system though... Joel Brown
Jeremy, If you have two workspaces open, one of them fullscreen, and the other not, it reproduces. But, similarly, if you put one Safari window fullscreen and the other not, it also reproduces there. So, I believe the behavior is deliberate.
