[Accordance 10: Study] Ever been asked to lead a Bible study with little to no advance notice? There's no need to panic. In this study of Psalm 23, Dr. J demonstrates how to use Accordance on an iPad to create a quick Bible study, using nothing more than a Bible, several good Bible dictionaries, and the Accordance PhotoGuide and PhotoMuseum.

That was fun, Dr J.  Your podcast also shows how useful the resources can be on an iPad (or mini), too.  Very helpful.  I'm so used to doing my study on a MacBook Air that I haven't adequately learned how to make the most of my iPad Air.

Thanks, Julie!

I had a lot of fun doing it. It's amazing just how much one can learn from Bible dictionary articles. Stack a bunch of them together and one can easily become an "instant expert!" ;-)

It sometimes takes a bit for iTunes to update, though it should have done so by now. Let's give Apple a bit longer. It's been a busy day for them!

I watched it at the link above. Thanks for continuing to do the podcast.

However, it doesn't play in iTunes. On my Mac it doesn't show up at all. On my iPad I was able to download it, but when I went to play the episode it gave me an error that it was unavailable.

David, that happened with me, too, FWIW, on an iPad mini.

It worked fine for me on my iPad, but I don't use the podcast player that comes with the iPad but I use another app called Pocket Cast.

Thanks Dr. J for this specific podcast exploring how to use the iPad app for Bible study. It did answer some of the questions I had about it.

Hey Dr. J,

I don't mean to be picky, but in the podcast you used the word "pedological." That has to do with soil science. I think you meant pedagogical. Anyway it was another great job.

Soli Deo Gloria,

Randy

Hey, guys (Randy & Abram)  –

You're both right.  Interesting, however, that pedological has two such disparate meanings.  When having to do with children or teaching, the word comes from the Greek (paed/paido <— child), don't you think?  But when it refers to soil it is derived from Latin (ped <— foot)?

Pedagogy is also derived from Greek (paidag7gos).

Good podcast.

Any idea when this podcast will show up in iTunes? I went to the iTunes store and to the page where you subscribe to the podcast. They have the list of episodes but that list only goes to #109. ?????? Yeah, I can watch it in MacTubes but it is easier to use iTunes.

Thanks,

John

Sorry, we have looked into it, but cannot figure out the problem. We may simply need to repost it now our server overload has eased.

#110 just showed up in iTunes on my Mac, but it won't play. I get a weird error: "This movie requires QuickTime, which is not supported by this version of iTunes." iTunes has problems with another Apple technology, that is confusing.

Server overload is becoming a bit of a recurring problem, is it not?

These are different servers, the website is one server and the downloads are currently hosted on a set of servers. We are migrating the downloads to a more stable system now, and planning to migrate the website in the near future.
