Personalising Map Region Sets

Hi,

I'm trying to edit the 'Roman Provinces' Region Set map.

What I'd like to do is to display the regions data that comes there but remove the colour fill so that the map can be printed and written on.

Can this be done through defining 4 user layers ('My Roman Empire, My NT Palestine, etc.) and then in those layers can I set the borders/colours that I want. Then create a 'set' called 'My Roman Provinces' that combines these 4 layers?

Is there a better way to customise colours without loosing the default settings?

Daniel

Daniel, sorry for the delay in getting back to you.

The 'Roman Provinces' is a set of 4 different related Layers - New Testament Palestine, New Testament Greece, New testament Asia Minor, and Roman Empire. As with all things in the Map - its extremely user customizable.

What you can do is create a new custom version of each of those Layers, like a 'My New Testament Asia Minor' in the Define Region Layers dialog. In that, define how you want those regions to be displayed (in your case, customize the colors or pick the empty fill).

Once you've customized each layer as you want it, just make your own Set (My Roman Provinces) that combines your new 4 sets. Of course, you have complete flexibility in this and can change whatever layers to whatever you like, combining them in whatever format :)

By working with new layers and sets, you won't affect the defaults at all.
