Multiple Accordance.apps

Hi,

I installed the Scholar's Collection 7.1 from the new CD on my OS X 10.3.9 system (upgrading my 7.0 installation). After this I installed Bible Atlas v2 (again upgrading my v1 installation). Finally, I installed the Bible Lands Photo Guide v2 (this was a new module for me). I now find that I have two Accordance.apps on my machine: one in my Applications/Accordance folder and the second on my Desktop. Using Get Info on both modules they report the same Accordance information (version creation/mod dates, etc.) except for the for the file size which is slightly different. The first reports a file size of 12,767,294 bytes and the second reports a file size of 12,800,440 bytes. My toolbar alias is pointing to the first file and seems to launch the application fine. When I used the second application file on the desktop it stepped me through a set of dialogs asking for default setting for various Accordance features.

What's going on here? Which app should I be using? Can I delete the second?

Thanks,

Martin

You should use the application that's in the Accordance folder. You will also notice that there are probably at least three new folders on the desktop, created by the Setup Assistant (Accordance Preferences, Gloss folder, and Modules). If there are any modules in the Modules folder on the desktop, you'll want to move them into /Applications/Accordance folder/Modules before dragging the desktop Accordance application and associated folders to the trash. And, just to be safe, you may want to download and run the latest installer, paying careful attention to the location where it wants to install/update, to make sure it is the folder inside /Applications.

If you do have newer modules on the Desktop, you will need to add these into Accordance using Edit menu/Arrange Modules/Add Module. You will need an unlock code if any of those modules are "locked."
