KevinPaszalek
I have several sets of user notes. Accordance is not letting me enter notes in all of them for given verses. For example, I have a user note set called "From Latin" and another called "Rough Translation." If I already have notes entered in either one of these user notes, Accordance will not allow me to enter notes in the other. It complains that "The selected verses cannot be found..." (see the attached image). I am using a MacBook Pro Processor 2.7 GHz Intel Core i7 Memory 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 OS X 10.9.5 (13F34) What in the world is going on? Thanks Kevin
Joel Brown
Kevin, how are you doing your editing? Are you clicking on the notes icon, using the toolbar, typing Command-U, etc.?
KevinPaszalek
Hi, Joel! Nice to see your smiling avatar! It doesn't matter how I try to access the notes. Sometimes I see the pencil icon superimposed on the notes icon in the margin. Clicking on that only gives me the note set which has information entered. Trying to use Amplify from the menus or from the tool bar fails. I upgraded to 11 in hopes of a fix. It is different. Now when I have notes in one note set for a verse, if I select a note set that doesn't have notes entered yet for that verse, Accordance just ignores me. Nothing happens! Joel Brown
Kevin, Amplify is used for searching existing notes. If you want to edit the note, you need to click the pencil, right click the verse and select Edit User Note, or click in the verse and type Command-U. When managing multiple notes files, you have two options to see which logic you prefer. If you generally work with one notes file at a time, switching occasionally, you will likely want to have Preferences -> User Files -> Reopen last Notes file checked. With this option checked, every time you begin a new note, it will use whichever notes file you were last editing. You can switch from notes file to file by editing a different notes file, or by right-clicking on the pencil to select a different file. If you are always switching back and forth, I recommend you uncheck that preference, so you choose which notes file to edit each time.
