User notes synch issue

Good morning Support.

Its a great day out there.

My Problem -

This morning I installed the new iPad iOS update(1.7.9).

  1. Then I added a couple of user notes on my iPad (My Notes). Synched to Dropbox. Then I synched my Mac Accordance to Dropbox (Yosemite; Accordance 11.0.2). But the iPad notes did not show up on my Mac.
  2. I then added a note on my Mac Accordance. I synched to DropBox. Then I synched my iPad. Then note did not show up on my iPad.

Would you please check into this?

Thanks

Can you take a snapshot of your user notes folder in Dropbox? It would be helpful to see the list of user notes and their full filenames.

Rick,

Thank you for the screenshot. As you can see (and Scott was alluding to), you have two user note files with the same name and different extensions. For some reason, the upgrade of your user notes was not handled properly.

If the notes on your iPad are different than your Mac and you want to keep them then I would:

  • In the Finder, rename My Notes.acc4 (e.g. My Notes iPad.acc4)
  • Dropbox Sync to your iPad and your Mac
  • You should have both installed and can compare/merge

If the notes on your iPad can be ignored/replaced then I would:

  • In the Finder, delete My Notes.acc4
  • Dropbox Sync to your iPad and your Mac
  • My Notes should be the same file on both

For both cases above, I would (in the Finder) delete Sample Notes.

Let us know how it goes,

Mike

Mike,

Thanks so much for your help. I went through all those steps, then tested notes posted at both ends. (I kept my Mac notes).

Everything works fine now.

Thanks again.

Rick
