Randy Cue
I tried to tie Gill's New Testament commentary to the ESV but the option was greyed out. Is there any way to accomplish this? Edited February 1, 2015 by Randy Cue
Timothy Jenney
Which Gill and what commentary?
Randy Cue
Dr. J, it's Gill Exposition NT that I got from the Accordance exchange. In case, I didn't mention it, it is a "My Tools" module .
Fabian
Search for Comments in the last week from Joel. It's rumor that it comes, with a great update for User Tools.
Timothy Jenney
Ah, I wondered why I couldn't find it in my Library. It's odd that someone would turn a commentary into a User Tool, rather than a User Note. The latter can be tied to text tabs—and scrolled in parallel with a Bible. So far as I know, User Tools cannot.

Helen Brown
Currently there is no way to import to a User Note except by copy and paste one note at a time. We have long had plans to create a User Tool that would sync with the text, but other features have been more urgent.
Timothy Jenney
...and that explains why this resource was imported as a User Tool! Thanks, Helen!
Fabian
Till OakTree distribute german Commentary, I have decided to make some self with free stuff. Can you describe how I have to format, that it will tie when this feature will come? Greetings Fabian
bobinberea
I have stumbled into this forum, and it seems to address my concern of the moment. I am studying Italian, and I have managed to create a User Tool of the Gospel of Mark using the Italian translation, Bibbia CEI 2008, recommended to me by Italian colleagues (see: http://www.gliscritti.it/dchiesa/bibbia_cei08/indice.htm ). I can open my Vangelo secondo Marco User Tool in a pane alongside of some other pane (e.g., NRSV, Greek NT, or whatever), but I can't figure out how to tie them together so they will scroll together. Is that "tie scrolling" operation not possible with a User Tool? Is there another way to accomplish the same end? Any chance that Oaktree could be persuaded to create a new module using the Bibbia CEI 2008 Italian Bible? My Italian colleagues in Rome tell me this is THE current version of the Italian Bible that they would recommend.
Fabian
Ciao Robert Try to make a User Bible instead a User Tool. It is not perfect, but for what you want better. Best you download TextWrangler or MacApp Store and copy paste the side source of the internet. In Safari alt+cmd+U and then look in the help of TextWrangler for "Grep Search" it is the Regex Search. I belive I had made a post here in the forums how to do that. Greetings Fabian Edited July 15, 2015 by Fabian
Timothy Jenney
Hi, Robert! If you are including more than just the text of the Bible, I recommend you consider developing a User Note, as User Notes are designed to scroll with the text. Otherwise, Fabian is correct, try importing the text as a User Bible. I'll forward your request for a the new Italian bible translation to our VP of Rights and Permissions. bobinberea
Thanks to Fabian and Timothy--it does indeed look like User Bible is the way to go. I was excited enough to learn of this option that I stayed up until 2 AM last night, trying to edit the raw text of Vangelo Secondo Marco into an acceptable form, in order to import it. I made some progress, but I have a lot of detailed, verse-by-verse edits to do. I'm thankful that Mark only has 16 chapters. I would be weeping if I were doing Isaiah. And thanks for considering the idea of an Accordance module for Bibbia CEI 2008.
Timothy Jenney
Robert, It turns out we have already licensed the CEI 2008. It's currently under development and should be available within the next few months.
bobinberea
Wow. Seek and ye shall find. Knock and it shall be opened unto you. Great news--thanks! I'll be buying it the instant it is available. I don't begrudge the 3-4 hours I spent creating my own User Bible of Vangelo Secondo Marco. ;-) It's all but finished. The only thing left to do was to go through my print copy of CEI 2008 to verify the paragraph breaks. (Every Bible text has its own peculiar ideas about where 'paragraphs' should break, eh?) But now I will cease my labors on Marco and await the full module! BTW, it was fun to do the import operation with the raw text of Marco. Accordance would gag when it encountered the first format or syntax error, and I would retreat and try to figure out what the problem was. Toward the end of this process there were 8-10 simple markup code errors in the text. Once I got to this point, I knew I was getting close to the finish line. I would know much better how to do all of this next time, but I'm happy to turn over the heavy lifting on such things to you folks. Thanks for your help with this. Timothy Jenney
It's in the final stages of development, Robert, so it shouldn't be too long. Thanks for being patient with us.
