A. Smith
I used to sync with dropbox. Then I ran into trouble and my notes got corrupted. I don't know if it was directly related to dropbox but, in an effort to avoid the problems, I quit messing with dropbox. Just today I decided to give it a try again. I backed up all my notes to my HD just in case and began a drop box sync. I noticed that it was synching my new notes and the old notes I no longer use but which were originally synced with dropbox my first time around. My question is, how do I get rid of them. Should I delete them from the accordance library, the dropbox folder, or some other way? What is the best procedure. The picture shows what is currently in dropbox. I only want the three with the .amynotes extension (I have no idea what that is, but I'm assuming it's something new to v11 as this is the first time I've seen it.). BTW, I'm only dealing with the desktop version right now. Edited February 4, 2015 by A. Smith
rcdeacon
First and foremost, BEFORE I sync with Dropbox I copy "Accordance Files" folder to desktop (in case of corruption), then I sync. I too have had numerous incidents of corruption problems but NONE recently. I still co the copy paste thing however. Then I go into the Accordance Files folder found in documents and ensure that I have no extra highlight files in the highlights folder and remove those I don't want. (for some reason Accordance is making a duplicate in some cases) If so, I then go to the Dropbox folder and check to see if they are there as well and remove them. Then I sync again. Once you get it the way you want it with your files it seems to work fairly good. Bob
A. Smith
If that's the case, I'm just going to skip dropbox. I wanted it as an easy, background sync. All that work, I may as well just use the built in sync. Thanks.
rcdeacon
Once it is checked and found acceptable it is fine! It does not take very much work and I use Dropbox to sync my Imac and Ipad Mini as well. It is far better than it once was. I only do this as added insurance minimizing the risk (although that has NOT happened in a long time)! Bob
