Can't prexisely select commentary text for highlighting

1) If commentary text starts with the quotation mark, it remains unselected. I can't include it.

 

2) Even if I select the period at the end of the sentence (of a commentary), it remains unhighligted.

 

3) Impossible to highlight empty space between two sentences. If one sentence has one color highlight and the next sentence another, there will remain empty space between. On my Mac I can highlight also spaces between two sentences.

 

Please improve selection and highlighting precision.
