Policy for custom upgrade vs. incremental upgrades

Hi,

What is the policy for calculating custom upgrade prices? I am thinking about at one point to upgrade to a higher collection package, which includes a number of the ressources, I would like to buy right away. I went ahead and bought one of these and had hoped that my custom upgrade price would be lowered with the amount paid for the item (since it seems highly customized down to the cent). I bought the NA-28 app, but unfortunately, my custom upgrade price remained exactly the same.

Can it be clarified how exactly this work? Will I probably end up paying twice if I continue to buy items incrementally and the later at one point take a full dive and buy a collection with the same items?

I don't know the exact policy, but I do know that you will always get a better deal when you just buy a whole package.  Early on, I bought just the Maps, then later added on the Timeline.  Then finally the Photoguide.  I would have saved a considerable amount of money had I just purchased the entire package.

If, however, you upgrade fairly soon (30 days?) after buying just one resource, you may be able to get full credit.  You might want to call Accordance and get some clarification and find out if there is a time-window for getting full credit for the resource you did purchase (or if it's even possible).  I've always found the Accordance folks very helpful whether I need technical help or help with a purchase.

The time limit for full credit is 90 days. Your custom upgrade probably stayed the same as your NA28 order had not yet been charged. When it is, you will see the difference, but the 90 day credit is applied only when the full order is processed.

I know it can sometimes require manual processing (if for example having certain items bought used), but perhaps when version 12 of the desktop app comes out it's possible to get a partial credit when upgrading from version 10 - I mean both for old Collections owned and for certain individual modules owned? Or do I get a better credit if I were to upgrade to version 11 first? The reason I'm hesitating to upgrade to version 11 is that I'm yet to ask my Hebrew seniour lecturer whether he would allow me to carry computers with Accordance 11 to class (which might start in August 2015 - depending on me I have a lot of tests to pass to be able to enter) as it's possibly to copy-paste original languages into the version 11 desktop app, or whether I should, according to him and for that reason, stay on version 10 which doesn't have that feature until I pass a couple of the basic courses.

I have no idea what the Accordance 12 policies and pricings will be, but based on how it was in Accordance 11, you will get credit for every module you own, whether purchased individually or as part of a collection.  For Accordance 11, we gave you credit for owning the prior version (10), but not versions prior than that.  If the same policy continues for Accordance 12, then upgrading to 11 now will give you more credit than 10 will, for purposes of upgrading the program.  Upgrading to 11 will also likely include some modules to add to your library, which would also likely provide credit with any potential 12 collection.

But, Accordance 12 has not been specified in any collections or pricings, so this is all pure speculation based on how Accordance 11 went.  Personally, I think there are a lot of really exciting things present in v11, so upgrading to it to have those features available to you is worth it enough, but thats just my 2c :)

I hope this is clear and helps!
