Peter Brylov Christensen
Hi there! I was doing a verbal search in Mishnah for a friend yesterday, and I noticed something strange. It appears that there is a tagging error in Sanh. 2:2 with the verb אֶתְנָה, as it is tagged as a weyiqtol/normal imperfect rather than the expected wayyiqtol/consecutive imperfect. Now, there obviously aren't supposed to be any wayyiqtols present in Mishnah (or weqatals/consecutive perfects for that matter) other than the ones that are quotes from TaNaK, but seeing that the verb in question is part of a quote from 2 Sam. 12:8 in which the very same verb is correctly tagged as a wayyiqtol, it should also be a wayyiqtol in Sanh. 2:2. With kind regards Peter Christensen
Ken Simpson
Hi Peter, thanks for this. It is better to use the “report a correction” item in the help menu. I have now done this for this entry. I agree it seems the mishnah tagging is probably mistaken.
Peter Brylov Christensen
Hi Peter, thanks for this. It is better to use the “report a correction” item in the help menu. I have now done this for this entry. I agree it seems the mishnah tagging is probably mistaken. You're absolutely right, Ken - force of habit, I'm afraid. I'll make sure to use the "report a correction" item consistently from now on. Thanks for taking care of the report!
