Aaron Smith
Just updated to Windows 10. If anybody was curious... Accordance is working great with it so far!
alagad_ng_diyos
My OS just updated from Win7 to Win10 as well. I ran Accordance and it asked me to validate the app again and authorize it to use Dropbox again. After doing those, I have had no problems so far. Timothy Jenney
Great! I'll be at a show next week (Assemblies of God General Council) and was hoping people would post about compatibility with Windows 10. I know I'll get questions about it. Thanks! rokas
Is there any noticeable increase in speed? Not so much in Accordance, for it is already lighting-fast, but generally?
Aaron Smith
At first everything was pretty sluggish, not Accordance specificially but the entire OS. I ran a virus scan and it found some things, I think Win 10 came with some free adware. However things are much smoother now that I got rid of that, but so far I don't see a huge difference in speed. R. Mansfield
I installed Win10 on both my Surface 3 and Acer R7 at midnight. I can confirm what others are reporting--other than having to re-validate, no issues at all.

Timothy Jenney
Wow, everyone, that's great to know! I can't remember a time when a system upgrade, particularly a Windows system upgrade, went to smoothly.

Michel Gilbert
Hi, After asking myself wwjd, why would Jesus download W10?, and coming up with a few reasons, I decided to try it. I'll admit the upgrade went smoothly. I just had to tweak a few language and keyboard settings. And, as for my programs, they all worked exactly the same, including Accordance (and BW and Logos). So I was pleasantly surprised. However, all of a sudden my Wi-Fi stopped working. I spent a couple of hours on Chrome on my iPad looking for solutions and trying them out. I found out that many have had trouble with Wi-Fi on W10 builds and the official release yesterday. It turns out that my Centrino Wireless N2230 adapter has many problems on W10. Maybe I should have done more research on it and every other piece of hardware and software on my system, but the Get Windows 10 notice said everything on my computer was compatible. I tried again this morning, but I couldn't get Wi-Fi back. So I asked myself, why wouldn’t Jesus downgrade? The downgrade back to 8.1 went even smoother than the upgrade. I started the downgrade this morning, went downstairs to get a bowl of cereal, and by the time I finished it I saw Win 8.1 on the screen again. And, Wi-Fi worked. I ended up asking myself what would Jesus do now? I'll join the Mac community when I buy my next computer. Regards, Michel

You'd think that Microsoft wouldn't have said your system was compatible with Win10 if there was a known issue with your WiFi. I've just never heard of Microsoft letting someone down like that (and that was sarcasm). I hope that everything on my two Windows machines continues to work with Win10 because I deleted the 8.1 recovery files to save space :-/

ukfraser
Michel Long story, but after an IT colleague died and his wife asked me to take the funeral and his computer got corrupted, i advised her to get a mac mini rather than a replacement windows 8/10 machine, and i am glad i did. ;o)
alagad_ng_diyos
MIchel,In my case, everything was working fine from the get go. Then some of my apps started to prompt me to update them to Windows 10 compatible versions. I did not hesitate. But after doing so and restarting the machine, I lost WiFi as well. I troubleshooted for about an hour until I found out that my new antivirus version had a stricter firewall policy enforced by default after the upgrade. I just tweaked that to my previous setting before the update and got back online again without having to downgrade. So far, all of my apps are working on Windows 10 without a hitch. Michel Gilbert
Hi Alagad, At first I couldn't get on some websites, including Accordance forums, so I disabled SSL Scan in Bitdefender and everything was fine. But when Bitdefender wanted to upgrade to its W10 version, there was no internet connection. That's how I found out my Wi-Fi wasn't working. Among other things, I tried changing some Firewall settings but couldn't get Wi-Fi back. I'm open to suggestions, e.g.,which settings worked for you? Thanks, Michel

We both have Bitdefender and experienced the same thing! This is what I did: 1. Turned off "Block Internet Connection Sharing" in Bitdefender's firewall settings and 2. Changed my wi-fi adapter's "Network Type" to "Trusted" (or "Home/Office" works fine as well). This can be accessed via: Bitdefender->Protection->Firewall->Adapters Haven't had a problem since. I hope this works for you. Edited August 1, 2015 by alagad_ng_diyos
Michel Gilbert
Hi Alagad, I thought I'd try your suggestions, and if that failed, I'd try the new W10 driver for my wireless adapter. It's funny, because I checked for it on July 30 and didn't see it or a drop-down menu for W10 drivers. Yet, they have the new driver dated July 29. This time, Wi-Fi didn't work at all. I tried your settings, but that didn't work either. Then I installed the new driver and it worked. I had set my Network Type to "Trusted," but after the driver update I set it back to "Home/Office" and it still worked. I'd recommend a few things to Acc users about the upgrade process. Make sure W7 or 8 is up to date. Back up your files, programs, etc. Download the W10 driver for your network adapter. Copy adapter settings. Copy Firewall settings. And, find your Windows Product Key just in case. You can use the Windows 10 Media Creation Tool at https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 to download W10 instead of waiting. And, if something goes wrong, it doesn't take nearly as long to downgrade (you have 30 days). Thanks for your help Alagad. Your suggestions gave me the courage to try again. alagad_ng_diyos
HI Michel, I'm glad you found a solution for your system. I on the other hand already have an updated wireless adapter as of Feb. 2015. If D-Link releases an update for it for that's W10 compatible, I will be sure to get it. Blessings to you, brother.
