Blurry Fonts with Retina

I recently upgraded my older non-retina Macbook Pro to a new retina Macbook. I'm currently running an older version of Accordance (9.6.8). Upon opening accordance, I was very disappointed at how blurry the fonts had become. They looked a lot worse than on my non-retina Macbook Pro. Upgrading to the most recent OS (10.10.4) helped a little bit, but the fonts are still noticeably blurry in relation to everything else that is very sharp. Is there any way to fix this issue?

I have the new retina MacBook and the fonts look wonderful. The fix, however is not in v. 9. It was introduced in v. 10, I believe, and now we're in v. 11. You can upgrade straight from 9 to 11, and I'm confident you'll appreciate the interface and features even more than what you have now.

I really hope there is another option other than upgrading. My accordance uses are quite basic. The new features I've read about in versions 10 and 11 didn't interest me, especially for the $60 upgrade fee.

Unfortunately, changes to support retina involved pretty extensive work to the inners of Accordance, work that provided for several new features and we cannot simply give away.

Since you upgraded your computer, there can never be an assumption that the new incompatibilities of the OS will still support older versions of the program.  It is an unfortunate aspect of the retina computers, where a non-retina application looks actually worse, but is a reality of the situation.  The improvements from 9 -> 10 and now 10 -> were quire significant, with new capabilities and improvements for all types of users.  I don't think you'll be disappointed, but there really is no free solution to replicate the work we put in place.
