Dieudonne
Any one has an idea how I can search for all μι verbs in the NT?
Elijah
You can use this command: *μι@[verb]@-+ειμι It ignores ειμι... (In the duplicate post that I created a while ago, I ended up with +*μι@[verb]@-+ειμι, but it searches for root-verbs with μι at the end not the lexical forms. So you would also get for example δειγματίζω, because the root is δείκνυμι. http://www.accordancebible.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=11693) The analysis output: ἀμφιέννυμι (ἀμφί, ἕννυμι) to clothe = 3 ἀναδείκνυμι (ἀνά, δείκνυμι) to show, reveal, designate = 2 ἀναδίδωμι (ἀνά, δίδωμι) to deliver, to give over = 1 ἀναζώννυμι (ἀνά, ζώννυμι) to gird up = 1 ἀνατίθημι (ἀνά, τίθημι) to set up, dedicate, declare, ascribe = 2 ἀνθίστημι (ἀντί, ἵστημι) to resist, oppose = 14 ἀνίημι (ἀνά, ἵημι) to send back, throw up, leave, lift up, forgive, relax = 4 ἀνίστημι (ἀνά, ἵστημι) to raise up, set up, resist, restore, arise = 108 ἀνταποδίδωμι (ἀντί, ἀπό, δίδωμι) to give back, pay back, recompense = 7 ἀντιδιατίθημι (ἀντί, διά, τίθημι) to oppose = 1 ἀντικαθίστημι (ἀντί, κατά, ἵστημι) to resist, set in opposition to, confront = 1 ἀποδείκνυμι (ἀπό, δείκνυμι) to show, exhibit, demonstrate, commend = 4 ἀποδίδωμι (ἀπό, δίδωμι) to give back, pay = 48 ἀποκαθίστημι (ἀπό, κατά, ἵστημι) to restore, return = 8 ἀπόλλυμι (ἀπό, ὄλλυμι) to destroy, ruin; to lose = 90 ἀποτίθημι (ἀπό, τίθημι) to put off, away = 9 ἀφίημι (ἀπό, ἵημι) to forgive, permit, free, neglect, abandon = 143 ἀφίστημι (ἀπό, ἵστημι) to withdraw, remove, depart, leave = 14 δείκνυμι to show = 30 διαδίδωμι (διά, δίδωμι) to divide, distribute = 4 διαζώννυμι (διά, ζώννυμι) to wrap around, put on = 3 διαρήγνυμι (διά, ῥήγνυμι) to break through; tear = 5 διατίθημι (διά, τίθημι) to make (a covenant) = 7 δίδωμι to give = 415 διΐστημι (διά, ἵστημι) to set apart, separate = 3 ἐκδίδωμι (ἐκ, δίδωμι) to give up, publish, hand over, lease = 4 ἐκκρεμάννυμι (ἐκ, κρεμάννυμι) to hang upon, depend on = 1 ἐκπετάννυμι (ἐκ, πέτομαι) to stretch out = 1 ἐκτίθημι (ἐκ, τίθημι) to explain, expose, make public = 4 ἐμπίμπρημι (ἐν, πίμπρημι) to set on fire = 1 ἐμπίπλημι (ἐν, πίπλημι) to fill = 5 ἐνδείκνυμι (ἐν, δείκνυμι) to show forth, exhibit = 11 ἐνίστημι (ἐν, ἵστημι) to begin, be, be upon, be present = 7 ἐξανίστημι (ἐκ, ἵστημι) to raise up, rise up = 3 ἐξίστημι (ἐκ, ἵστημι) to amaze, confuse = 17 ἐπανίστημι (ἐπί, ἀνά, ἵστημι) to rise; to turn against = 2 ἔπειμι_1 (ἐπί, εἶμι_2) to be upon, so set upon, remain (sum) = 5 ἐπιδείκνυμι (ἐπί, δείκνυμι) to show, display, exhibit = 7 ἐπιδίδωμι (ἐπί, δίδωμι) to give = 9 ἐπιτίθημι (ἐπί, τίθημι) to lay on, place, put, add = 39 ἐφίστημι (ἐπί, ἵστημι) to set, set over, establish; to come upon = 21 ζώννυμι to fasten, dress = 3 ἵστημι to stand, place, put = 154 καθίημι (κατά, ἵημι) to let down, drop = 4 καθίστημι (κατά, ἵστημι) to put down, bring to, put in charge, make = 21 κατάγνυμι (κατά, ἀξίνη) to break, shatter = 4 καταστρώννυμι (κατά, στρωννύω) to set a table, scatter, overthrow = 1 κατατίθημι (κατά, τίθημι) to lay, place = 2 κεράννυμι to mix, mingle = 3 κίχρημι (χράομαι) to lend = 1 κορέννυμι to fill, have enough = 2 κρεμάννυμι to hang, hang on, hang up = 7 μεθίστημι (μετά, ἵστημι) to remove, change, turn aside = 5 μεταδίδωμι (μετά, δίδωμι) to impart, share, distribute = 5 μετατίθημι (μετά, τίθημι) to remove, change = 6 μίγνυμι to mix, mingle = 4 ὀνίνημι to benefit, have joy = 1 παραδίδωμι (παρά, δίδωμι) to deliver, deliver over = 119 παρατίθημι (παρά, τίθημι) to set before; commend = 19 παρίημι (παρά, ἵημι) to let go, neglect, droop = 2 παρίστημι (παρά, ἵστημι) to present, stand by = 41 περιζώννυμι (περί, ζώννυμι) to wrap around, make oneself ready = 6 περιΐστημι (περί, ἵστημι) to put around; stand around, avoid = 4 περιρήγνυμι (περί, ῥήγνυμι) to tear off = 1 περιτίθημι (περί, τίθημι) to put on = 8 πήγνυμι to put up, fasten = 1 πίμπλημι (πληρόω) to fill, fulfill = 24 πίμπρημι to swell up = 1 προδίδωμι (πρό, δίδωμι) to give first = 1 προΐστημι (πρό, ἵστημι) to manage, stand before, lead = 8 προσανατίθημι (πρός, ἀνά, τίθημι) to go for advice = 2 προσπήγνυμι (πρός, πήγνυμι) to crucify = 1 προστίθημι (πρός, τίθημι) to put; to add = 18 προτίθημι (πρό, τίθημι) to set forth; to purpose = 3 ῥήγνυμι to break, tear, attack, burst out = 1 ῥώννυμι to strengthen, possess strength = 1 σβέννυμι to extinguish, quench = 6 συγκατατίθημι (σύν, κατά, τίθημι) to agree with = 1 συγκεράννυμι (σύν, κεράννυμι) to mix together, unite = 2 συζεύγνυμι (σύν, ζυγός) to join together = 2 σύμφημι (σύν, φημί) to approve, agree = 1 συναναμίγνυμι (σύν, ἀνά, μίγνυμι) to mix together; to associate with = 3 συναπόλλυμι (σύν, ἀπό, ὄλλυμι) to perish together = 1 συνεπιτίθημι (σύν, ἐπί, τίθημι) to join in an attack = 1 συνεφίστημι (σύν, ἐπί, ἵστημι) to join in attack = 1 συνίημι (σύν, ἵημι) to understand, to think about = 26 συνίστημι (σύν, ἵστημι) to associate with, to recommend; to unite, to collect = 16 συντίθημι (σύν, τίθημι) to put together, to agree = 3 τίθημι to put, make, appoint = 100 ὑποδείκνυμι (ὑπό, δείκνυμι) to show, inform = 6 ὑποζώννυμι (ὑπό, ζώννυμι) to undergird = 1 ὑποτίθημι (ὑπό, τίθημι) to put under; to risk; to point out = 2 φημί to say = 66 Edited November 16, 2015 by Elijah

Ken Simpson
No sure why you have excluded the ειμι verbs...but as long as Dieudonne understand that.
Elijah
thanks for pointing that out. You can of course just use *μι@[verb] The exclusion of ειμι was just something I wanted to do, because I wanted to highlight all the μι-Verbs in the GNT but not ειμι because I was already familiar with it and it occurs very often.
