Ability to add and edit Highlight Symbols

I have begun to use the highlighting symbols, and have found several of them very useful. However, I would to be able to edit or add symbols to the list. Is the possible? Can it be done now, or added as a feature in the future? I am using a El Capitan 10.11.2 on a 3.5 GHz Intel Core i7.

It's not supported, but, you can swap out or alter the images yourself. Info about how to do that on a Mac is here:

I've no idea where the file resources are stored in the PC program, but I'm sure you can find it.
