Tony Lawrence
The ESV Study Bible has some excellent charts, maps and illustrations. However, if I use Research and limit the search to "image" then choose the Group "Study Bibles" and search for "Ephesus" it does not find any of the graphics in the ESV Study Bible (but does in others). There is an excellent drawing of the layout of Ephesus in the Introduction to the book of Ephesians. I assume that these images simply lack the tagging. I have used these images in presentations before and while I know they are there it would be great if they were tagged so they could be found. Alistair
There is an excellent drawing of the layout of Ephesus in the Introduction to the book of Ephesians. Well, it is pretty but I wouldn't call it excellent. It is quite basic. Look here: http://www.mappery.com/maps/Map-of-Ancient-Ephesos-Ephesus.jpg and here http://www.kairos2.com/Ephesus-map02.jpg EDIT cannot get the second reference to convert into a link Edited February 3, 2016 by Alistair
Tony Lawrence
Thanks Alistair for the links. The illustration that I as referring to is accord://read/ESV_Study_Bible#22089. You are correct that its quite basic, but when I am leading tours I take this one on my iPad to help orient those traveling with me to the major features like the commercial agora and the state agora. Sometimes basic which is well done is more valuable than more detailed when it is hard to read in my opinion. My concern was that when I do a search for images I would like for the ones in the ESV Study Bible to appear in the search results along with the others. ukfraser
As i have reported elsewhere, the hard copy of the esv has a list of diagrams. It would be a help if the e version included all the list which would then be linked. Doesnt sort your issue tony but... ;o( Image attached! We started doing that after this was released, but we can easily add it back in. We'll add it to the to-do list. Thanks for the feedback. That makes perfect sense.
Tony Lawrence
The latest update of the ESV Study Bible now has captions field searching. Thank you! Can anyone imagine a company more responsive than Accordance? I placed this request just 8 days ago and presto, its here.
