Synopsis Quattuor Evangeliorum

Is there any way to really duplicate this in Accordance?

Here's a screenshot of the first page.

Here is my attempt to approximate the resource in Accordance.

The problem, of course, is that the apparatus zones don't scroll with the panes above.  I can't see how I can make a zone scroll with a pane.  Is it possible?

Do I just need to buy a print book?

Or it could be a neat feature that can be added to a future release...

I had a poke around and duplicated your result Julie. The problem seems to be that there is no way to LINK to the verses in the parallel. I agree this would be a nice enhancement for uses like this.

The only work-around I can see for now would be essentially recreating the parallel as a UT and links, but a) that's a lot of work, and B) I suspect it wouldn't quite work. In the middle of Lego Mindstorms at present so haven't tried it.

Thx

Another option might be to allow a single tool pane in each parallel column. All of these require programming.

However, remember that mousing over the sigla will show you the apparatus so you do not absolutely need to open the apparatus for each gospel in a separate tab or pane. You could also have a single apparatus tab that you amplify to with a click on any of the sigla.

Your main wish is for the appropriate apparatus windows/panes to show up. What I've always wanted was an actual Synopsis, where the line breaks from SQE or another are coded in, making it an actual functional synopsis (unlike the Parallel tools).

Helen –

Thank you for your suggestion – it's a good one that will be easy to set up.  I think I may buy a print book, too, however.

My guess that to achieve a reasonable semi-duplicate of the print resource would be a lot of work for a pretty limited market.  Maybe someday.

I would love to see Accordance produce this module!

If Accordance could pull it off, I would require Accordance for my Synoptics class and this particular module. It's that important.

I currently require the hardcopy and the students make copies and highlight accordingly. If they had an Accordance module, the process would be much better and they could store their assignments more efficiently.

Years ago I drug an Accordance employee to an SBL Synoptics section to try and make the case for how significant producing the Nestle-Aland synopsis would be.

Apparently, Logos has the module, but you can't highlight the text. So, I'm not sure what the point is.

In any case, you are correct. The NA Synopsis module would attract a host of scholars and students.

I can live without the apparatus because, as Helen says, an Opt/alt+click will show any single variant in a popup—or I can just mouse over it and see the info in Instant Details.

It's the line breaks (missing verses) I miss. What is NOT present in a parallel account is every bit as important as what is present. I'd like to see parallel verses (verse-by-verse), not just parallel passages.

+1 on the parallel feature - a true synopsis. Another example would be Bendavid's Parallels in the Bible.

http://www.amazon.com/Parallels-Bible-Hebrew-Abba-Bendavid/dp/9652208094/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1455318722&sr=8-1&keywords=Parallels+In+The+Bible

Hi,

Is there someone who is well versed in Hebrew and have some time to invest to help me translate into English a (3 or 4 I think) few pages of the beginning of Bendavid's Parallels in the Bible (I recently received it in the mail)? As as far as the actual content of the book, I can manage well, thanks to Accordance. I truly appreciate it.

Check the back. English translation. Its not a perfect match but it will get you through. He just explains the format etc.

There are some that look like indexes. Those are the ones I am interested in. I wished that they provided English ones for those. I provided the pictures of the particular ones. I don't see an English equivalent.

Hi Emanuel, Any chance that google translate will help you sufficiently ? Just a thought. I alas could only read a few words here or there in the images you posted.

Thx

Hi, I tried that last night. But, there are times when the translation did not make sense. Figured human translation will be more reliable.

I sort of figured but thought I would mention it in case. Certainly human would be better.

Wish I could help - if you can wait a few years :)

Good luck
