Is this possible?

Hi,

I have compiled a list of Bible stories with their biblical references (I am actually using it currently with my children) and I would really like to be able to use it in Accordance, so that when I hover over the biblical references I can see the text instantly.  Is this possible?

I have attached the PDF:

Maybe I am not quite understanding what you want to do, but it would seem to me, if you just create a new User Tool, copy and paste it all in to the tool, then autolink all the references, you should get exactly what you want. (I just did it in about 20 seconds - but I may not understand what you want). As you can tell, it still needs a little tweaking. The Autolink function is not perfect.

Sorry, I have never done this kind of thing before in Accordance.  But you did give me the answer I was looking for.  Thank you!

Unfortunately even the colors of characters of your file will not be there in the User Tools. (a request from my side)

Greetings

Ken,

Looks to me like the auto-link simply is not recognizing verse reference ranges where the document uses an em-dash as the range separator.

I'd suggest replace-find all em-dashes with dashes. I think it will also recognize en-dashes (it should, because that's actually the preferred in many styles).

Thanks Joe, didn’t look to closely. Just proof of concept. Thanks for the debugging :-)

Addendum:

Just did an S&R on the Em dash and replaced it with a simple - and voila! It worked! (Haven’t checked every link though...)

and the single chapter references didn’t autolink, which I think is a known - even designed - limitation.

PS - actually all the links that don’t have verse numbers aren’t recognised)

Thanks to you all!  Sorry for my ignorance about the new User Tool.  And yes, I agree that there are some limitations.  I will need to work on polishing the document now.  Thanks again for all your patience, friends.
