Spinning Wheel

Often when I'm scrolling text or if I move away from Accordance to another program and then return, I'm increasingly faced with a spinning wheel, sometimes for a few seconds, other times up to 30 sec+.  Has anyone else been experiencing these delays or is this something I need to look into further?  I appreciate that Helen has already pointed out that with the release of a full cocoa version (11.2) things should become a bit more stable, but I'm trying to find out if this is something that relates uniquely to my machine. Thanks.
