GeoffP
Hi! I am increasingly working in Eastern Africa and was wondering if there are any plans to get a Swahili Bible into the Accordance system in the near future. Millions of people here use a Swahili Bible of some sort! Seems like there is plenty of choice in regard to "Western" languages but not many 3rd world? Many thanks, Geoff Edited May 14, 2016 by GeoffP
Helen Brown
If you have an etext you can import it as your own User Bible. If it is free of copyright or etext restrictions, you can post it to the Exchange for others to download. If you send us information on a good version that is widely used, and who owns it, we can look into acquiroing a license for it. However this also depends on the demand, which has been minimal so far.

William T. McVay
However it happens and whoever is involved, I would second Geoff's reasoning that a Swahili Bible for Accordance is important in terms of ministry potential. Swahili is a lingua franca in southeastern Africa, spoken by between 80 million and 150 million people. This puts it in the same class as Punjabi, Bengali, and Javanese as a highly-used language without an Accordance Bible module. It deserves the support of Christians focused on spreading the Gospel in east Africa. Edited May 14, 2016 by William T. McVay

Diatheke76
Y’all might want to post under module request, not feature request. Feature and module are two different things.

I have to invest many hours to find an adjust a Bible for an existing verse mapping and get only a clunky result. This time I would better to invest to adjust the Bible for the correct verse mapping and have then one which matches perfectly. So I have to invest the time anyway, but Accordance don't let me do a better result which is very frustrating. Andrew Patterson
I want to express more support for a Swahili Bible. Swahili is the common tongue throughout many East African nations, including Tanzania, Kenya, and Uganda, and it would be good to have a Bible to teach from or to prepare material from. Jordan S
Is there one in particular that would be more preferable? Perhaps one of these that we could request?
Andrew Patterson
Per my Swahili missionary friend, the Swahili Union Version (1997) is the preferred and most popular version, and he recommends starting with it.

Jordan S
No. I've emailed both the TBS and the KENBS but haven't heard back from either. I just sent another email.
