This is an amazing deal! I highly recommend this series to anyone, as this sheds light on context, which is a huge key to understanding Scripture. I've benefited greatly from this series in the few months I have had them. This pricing is hard to pass up!

Okay, evidently, this was offered for $10 less way back in January, 2013. I didn't mean to mislead when I wrote "Lowest Price Ever."

Still a great deal, and if you read the blog post linked to in the original post above, you will see why I so strongly recommend this series.

This was my first significant purchase in Accordance--even at a low sale price I went back and forth all week and finally ran to get my debit card as the sale was expiring at midnight... no regrets! One of my most-used resources.

I would agree, I have the NT-set in print and have been waiting for a deal to come up to buy both for Info Pane :).

BTW, will the combined set show up as two modules in Accordance or just one? I would like to have them in two sets. It makes it easier to search for page numbers and browse through.

Hi Morten, they appear as two separate modules.

You can combine ZIBBCOT & ZIBBCNT as a combined resource to run in parallel with a biblical text.

  • 2 weeks later...

I was looking for a background commentary for quite some time. I'm still waiting for the IVP Background Commentary in Accordance to be updated to the current version. Does anybody that has both IVP and Zondervan ZIBBC have an opinion on how they compare?

On the logos forum the IVP Commentary seems to be prefered (https://community.logos.com/forums/t/48577.aspx)

Elijah,

I have both the IVP Background and ZIBBC. I got the IVP with the IVP Reference Collection (http://www.accordancebible.com/store/details/?pid=IVP3) several years ago. Shortly after I purchased the ZIBBC combo. Generally I will consult them both when studying the background of a passage. I have found myself using the graphic images frequently from the ZIBBC but relying more on the text in the IVP volumes. If I had to choose to just keep one I would definitely keep the IVP. May I humbly suggest that for just a few dollars more than the ZIBBC you get the whole Reference Collection which has several other excellent volumes. Just my opinion.

Is there any indication from Accordance if they will be releasing an updated IVP Background Commentary. I was in the bookstore the other day and noticed a stack of the newer edition on display.

Hi Rick, Perhaps I'm really thick, but I can't figure out how to combine ZIBBCOT & ZIBBCNT as a combined resource. Can you give me a step by step setup? Thanks.

Thanks for trying Fabian, but that didn't help at all.

why not?

Be sure: First open a Bible, then ZIBBCOT as a parallel tool and then click on the combine feature button to add ZIBBCNT. It doesn't work if you open only ZIBBC??

See: If one Text has already been opened in a parallel pane, follow this procedure: under Manually Combine Two Resources

Greetings

Fabian
