Julia Falling
Neither of these interfere with using Accordance, but they look sloppy. First, the Info Pane has the wrong heading. The blankness of the pane is to be expected, right? Second, the dropdown menu has Grammars checked, but the Tool is in the Greek Lexicons folder. Neither of these impair the way Accordance functions, but it does detract from an otherwise excellent Accordance interface. Michael Hunt
This topic might be worth following on the checkmark issue. As I have noted in the following post I can replicate the issue using the control key shortcuts. http://www.accordancebible.com/forums/topic/18874-what-are-the-little-check-marks-for/?p=91773 Not sure about the info pane though. Julia Falling
OK – Looks like the checkmark might be the same thing. I never get more than 1 in the dropdown menu. The Info Pane heading/title is somehow related to the 0 verse we often see in Psalms. Frankly, they're both mostly 'cosmetic' but it would be nice if they were resolved. Michael Hunt
I couldn't replicate what you are seeing in the info pane. Admittedly there are fewer resources but I still get commentaries and cross references coming up for me. My default text is the NIV (2011) with Enhanced G/K Numbers. Julia Falling
Ha! My Search Text was the HMT-W4. When I switched to the NAS95 the Info Pane displayed normally. The Hebrew text has no verse zero. The "A Psalm of David" is in verse 1 as לְדָוִ֨ד (particle + David). I plan on taking Hebrew next fall (the Lord willing) – hope to be able to make some sense of the language in a couple of years. Thanks for replying. The issue was my choice of Search Text – it makes perfect sense. Not a bug. Whew (right, Joel?). Edited June 15, 2016 by Julie Falling
Michael Hunt
Are you planning to do Hebrew online or in a traditional classroom setting? I'm thinking of refreshing my Hebrew from seminary (which was really just a basic overview of tools, not so much learning the language as such). P.S. Glad that my post helped you find out what was behind your issue with the info pane. Edited June 15, 2016 by oddsocks
Julia Falling
I am planning on auditing at a local seminary ~30 minutes from home. I have problems with the denomination's theology, but both the college and associated seminary have a reputation for doing a good job with languages. When it comes to theological issues, I stay quiet. I'm there to learn the language, not to disrupt the classroom. I audited and sat in on Greek at the college and the professors and students alike were very kind and gracious to let me join them. My husband has completed 1st year Greek and will start 2nd year in the fall. If he's got his head in a book (and computer), I might as well do the same.
