Understanding workspaces

I set up accordance with the tabs I need and then save the workspace, intending that this is like my "default workspace", but then, over the course of I day I open up other tabs and maybe accidentally close a tab I had carefully set up. It seems that it saves all of these so that I end up with a workspace that is not the one I carefully set up.

How do I make it so that accordance only remembers the workspace in the form that I have deliberately setup?

Im sure the answer is simple, but I can't quite work it out.

It shouldn't actually save the changes unless you ask it to. There's a difference between a saved workspace and a default open-to workspace (although now you can make the program open to a saved workspace of your choosing).

If you have Preferences/General (Startup drop-down) set to Last Session, it will open whatever you were last working on, whether you saved it or not. So if you saved a workspace but then built on top of it, the latter workspace will be opened if set to Last Session. You should still be able to get back to the original workspace in that case by just opening it from the library (My Tools), File/Open Workspace, etc.

You could also just go to Preferences/General and from Startup select "Favorite Workspace"--I think that is what you are wanting Accordance to do, but maybe I'm misunderstanding. Sounds like you have it set to "Last Session."

Thanks, This will probably fix it. It should now open with the tabs I have set up, as long as that workspace doesn't somehow get updated during the day.

Thanks!

  • 2 weeks later...

Or just set it up perfectly and, when in preferences you select startup as default, click on the save as default.

Many ways to skin a cat :)
