Susan
I'm attempting to locate the word ἡμεῖς in NA-28 as part of a more complex search. This ought to be the easy part... In the LXX (Rahlfs), I can use [pronoun plural nom]@ἐγώ, but this gives no hits in NA-28. [Pronoun first plural nominative] also works in LXX but brings up nothing in NA-28. (This is the same as the wording from the tag entry menu; the corresponding construct search produces the same results.) [Pronoun first plural] -- no hits (!). [Pronoun first].... now I get all of them. [Pronoun first nominative] works as well, so number is apparently the only parameter I'm not able to specify. The same issue seems to exist in the corresponding 2nd person search in the NA-28. The 3rd person works as expected using either [pronoun plural]@αυτος or [pronoun third plural]. This feels like a stupid questions, but... how can I separate singular from plural for the first and second person personal pronouns?
Ken Simpson
Hi Susan, I am not sure what’s going on for you here. But these searches are working for me LXX Rahlf’s and NA28 search for [pronoun plural nom]@ἐγώ and LXX Rahlf’s and NA28 search for [Pronoun first plural nominative] The second person searches are working for me too. Can you just check a couple of things... 1. what version Acc are you using (and what platform) - it might be just worth doing a “check for updates” as there was an issue to do with some @ searches on the PC - though not this sort of issue...) 2. what version NA28 and LXX are you using (about this text) 3. Double check that your search text (the drop-down menu to the left of the search entry box is what you expect. Thanks Edited August 2, 2016 by Ken Simpson
Susan
Thanks, Ken. I just updated (Acc. 11.2.3), using OS X 10.10, and the issue is the same. I think you've found the problem if your #2, though: I was using "NA28 Greek NT (Sigla)" (1.4) rather than "NA28 Greek NT" (1.9). The latter works as expected (and as you have illustrated). Any reason why the version with the sigla shouldn't work for some searches? Edited August 2, 2016 by Susan
Ken Simpson
Susan, even knowing this I can’t reproduce your issue. My NA28-Sigla text gives the same results, though the version of my NA28-Sigla is 1.5. I don’t know if that’s the issue. Could you possibly take a screenshot of the search (having failed in the NA28) that we could have a look at? Thanks
Susan
All seems to be working now.... I'm not sure what I was doing wrong before. Very weird. Thanks for your help.
Ken Simpson
No problems Susan. Glad to be of [no] help whatsoever :-0 However, your problem did allow me to identify and issue in another module that I think we may need to investigate so thanks!
