ryangeer
When I link to a Bible tab from another tab, I keep getting an error saying that a passage is expected (which is exactly what has been entered, btw). What am I doing wrong?
Helen Brown
What tab are you linking to this ESV? If the Chinese, perhaps it's expecting a Chinese reference.
ryangeer
Everything's in English in this example. Here are some images.
Fabian
Use the comma or the colon instead of the point to separate from chapter to verse. The point has another function. Greetings Fabian
ryangeer
That's never been an issue before (just curious, what other function?) and after trying it--it isn't the issue here. Same error.
Fabian
In the European this is as "Plus". So Gen 2,3.6 is Gen 2:3, 6 in american style. Greetings Fabian
ryangeer
Interesting. Actually, I was introduced to the #.## notation at an Accordance training seminary and I've used it ever since (that was some 10 years ago).
Mark Allison
In the NET Bible pane (the one that contains the "Link" command), change your search from "Words" to "Verses". Edited September 19, 2016 by Mark Allison
ryangeer
That's crazy. I don't know why I didn't notice that... It's interesting that if the button is set to "Verses" when you insert the Link command, it automatically changes the selection to "Words". I wonder why that is. Anyway, thanks for catching that. It's been bothering me for a few weeks.
Mark Allison
I could be wrong, but I don't remember it changing before. I'll check with our programmers.

Actually, I was introduced to the #.## notation at an Accordance training seminary and I've used it ever since (that was some 10 years ago). False alarm, sorry. But what I wrote is sometimes a problem, but it seems not in this case. Greetings Fabian

Mark, I have a short QT video of the switch (from Verses to Words) happening but am not allowed to upload it. If you would like to see it, let me know how to send it along.
