Elijah
I have imported the current German Elberfelder bible which worked without errors. There are some books however where the verses don't match at all. I first thought it could be related to verse "gaps" in different translations, but it starts from the first verse of several books I checked. It seems like there is a gap of 10 verses (s. screenshot). Verseschema: Elberfelder (The current version in Accordance form 1991) I used the following book names: Gen Ex Lev Num Deut Joshua Judg Rut 1Sam 2Sam 1Kings 2Kings 1Kings 2Kings 1Chr 2Chr Ezra Neh Est Job Psa Prov Eccles Song Isa Jer Lam Ezek Daniel Hosea Joel Amos Obad Jona Mic Nahum Hab Zeph Hag Zech Mal Mat Mark Luk John Acts Rom Rom 1Cor 2Cor Gal Eph Phil Col 1Thes 2Thes 1Tim 2Tim Titus Philem Hebr James 1Pet 2Pet 1John 2John 3John Jude Rev Accordance Version: 11.2.3 OS: Windows 8.1 x64
Helen Brown
Please check the start of each book and find the first one. Check the etext at that point.
Elijah
Thanks for the hint. I found the first occurance where the verses don't match. There were some empty duplicated verse references in the source file. For example:Psa 88:1Psa 88:1 Ein Lied. Ein Psalm. Von den Söhnen Korachs . Dem Chorleiter. Nach Machalath zu singen. Ein Maskil . Von Heman, dem Esrachiter. After correcting those references everything was lined up correctly. I'm wondering however if Accordance shouldn't have complained about having one refernce multiple times. Fabian
I'm wondering however if Accordance shouldn't have complained about having one refernce multiple times. If you import as KJV then Accordance complain. So for German Bibles, and you have a problem. Try to import only parts of the Bible in the KJV verse mapping. The whole is not possible, because there are to different. Greetings Fabian
Fabian
I have imported the current German Elberfelder bible which worked without errors. I would love to have this Bible with notes, and the numbering system in Accordance. Also as different Study version available. Elijah
I used the existing Elberfelder in Accordance for the verse schema. The Versenumbers fit the text properly now. I had to insert empty verses (just -) for the places where the old Elberfelder doesn't have a verse. If I leave the gap then Accordance doesn't import like I expected - there is no gap in the imported text, Accordance just filled the gap with the next verse which leads to wrong verse numbers in all following verses of the chapter. I made a screenshot that explains the two different ways I tried to import the text: It would be interesting for me to know if this is expected behavior, or if it should be possible to import with gaps so that the resulting text also has gaps (the Accordance help says so: "Verses within a chapter can be skipped but must not be out of order; verses 2,4,5,8 are acceptable")
Fabian
Much appreciated. English: Fabian suggested to test the import again in 12.3.3 and it worked. I had to remove the empty verses (where the translation I chose as a basis in the import also had no verses).
