Enoch
I began today by triple clicking on a verse for which commentary was sought. In searching for a commentary on a verse in Ephesians, the click on The New American Commentary only resulted in a blank screen. Probably that means that in the 42 vols of the NAC, Ephesians is not included. This process continues to be an inconvenience & a time-waster, since one does not know when a set lacks a commentary on some Bible book. Thus one clicks on a commentary in vain. Some way is needed to know which commentaries in the list are real and which are fantom. One way I think of doing this is to grey out those commentaries in the list or have an X appear beside them. This is a particular problem for those who have spent the most on Accordance Commentaries, since there are so many items to click on. Thanks in advance for addressing this problem. Steve King
Hi Enoch. There is a feature called the 'Info Pane' which is available by selecting the Add Parallel button. If the info pane is displayed in parallel with the bible text then it will display only those commentaries that have that particular verse available in it. The issue is that you need to set up you commentaries in the order that puts your most used/useful ones at the top. Then you can reduce the number of commentaries that you need to display on the info pane. It will allow you to display up to 100 commentaries/study bibles if you want to but that will slow down paging down the text. It is configurable so that you can display a list of commentaries that is most useful to you and will ignore those that do not have any information on that verse. As an example see the following screen shot. This is for Phil 1:1 and the New American Commentary title is displayed in the info pane (the right hand pane in the screen). You can click on the title to go to the commentary (note that you can optionally display a graphic of the commentary cover if you prefer). The next screen shot shows the text and info pane for Eph 1:1 and the New American Commentary is not displayed in the list because it does not cover Ephesians You can display extra commentaries by clicking the + sign. It might require you to change your workflow a bit but it would solve your issue.
