Martin Shields
I would like to search for verbs which share a complement in Hebrew. What I'm looking for would be either: Verb Complement {conjunction} Verb or Verb {conjunction} Verb Complement An English example would be something like: "I loved and hated the rain." Hopefully that's clear! Is this possible with the syntax modules?
Robert Holmstedt
Hi Martin, We were very conservative in our analysis of compound verbs, which is how we would analyze what you're requesting. With that said, there are some, and it's an issue I've marked for further research when the database is complete. For now, you can see which one's we've tagged as compound predicates by a fairly simple construct search for [Predicate-C] (that is, insert a predicate into the first column and choose "compound" in the pop-up window). Martin Shields
Thanks Robert, I'll give that a try. I guess the difficulty will always be that the more interesting syntactical constructions are likely to be the most contested! Martin.
