Hab 3, Barberini Version

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I am studying Habacuc 3 in the Barberini version, but it does not seem to be included in the LXXG-12-Modul, though it is in Ziegler's edition. Is it true? It can't be true... Or is it just me who can't find it?

If it is not there, is there a chance to include it? It is an essential part of the critical edition.

Any suggestion?

Boni

I am not sure what you are looking for, but please note there are two apparatus modules for the 12, both edited by Ziegler. We should have all the contents of the print edition, between these two modules, and the text itself.

Dear Helen,

I suppose, that the text is somewhere, but I can't find it although I am using both apparatus modules. Am looking for the text on pp. 273ff. This is the first page as a sample.

Hello Boni

In the preface of Hab 3, Barberini it is written, this is not a part of LXX, so I doubt you will find it there. Maybe in the apparatuses which Helen mentioned before.

The publisher is Brill and not Vandenhoeck & Ruprecht GmbH & Co. KG. Unfortunately Accordance has only a few modules from Brill. They have much more actual Tools/Dictionaries for Hebrew and Greek (classical and NT).

I doubt also that there is an e-text, because the publishing date is 1959.

How much you have to go "in". Is it worth the effort to write to the publisher that You will make an e-text and they will give it to Accordance for selling. A lot of work.

Greetings

Fabian

I see what you mean. The text at the end of App 2 ends on p 146 with:

19    εἰς συντέλ.] εβρ´ ασφαλειαν Cyr.II 166; οι αλλοι ασφαλειαν Thph. p. 901

but the additional Greek text and Notes are missing. We will need to check whether this was in the original text that we received from Göttingen.
