hi everyone,

I'm about to pass from another software to Accordance but I'm a little bit confused about all these versions, special offers, bundles etc.

what I need?

I'm an advanced student of biblical languages. I certainly need original bible versions, critical apparatus and dictionaries. maybe some commentaries but that's secondary.

any suggestions? someone experienced who can help me?

Sounds to me like you are a candidate for something in the Greek and Hebrew Track.  Take a look at the Greek and Hebrew Discoverer and the Greek Pro and Hebrew Pro collections.

You might find Dr. J's video introduction to the collections helpful:  https://vimeo.com/188943322

If you're still not sure after that, give the sales staff a call/email/chat message.  They'll help you find a collection  or collection + single/bundle items that fits what you need, and they won't pressure you to bury more than what you are looking for.

Piotr.

Spend a lit of time on the accordance web site. Think about tools you need and use currently (you should be able to create a list of dictionaries easily), and look at them in greek and hebrew tools, then scroll down and see what package its in and then click on those packages to see what else you get.(eg bdag in screenshot.)

Dont only look at the main collections on the front page but open up the greek and hebrew links under store.

And as lorinda says, ask sales but also look at the pod casts, the original language thread on this forum and ask follow up questions.

thanks for you answers.

actually being a student I was asking more for a kind of special discount or something...

I know that I could buy a collection with everything I need inside it but I just can't afford it :(

so my question is more like: what's the best way (= the cheapest) to get those basic resources?

Bear in mind that if you are a registered student you will be entitled to apply for a student discount... And I believe if you enrol on their webinar programme you can collect some credit towards future purchases.

Plus if you have purchased things with another software program, let sales know what you own and they may be able to offer you a 'crossgrade' for those products.

There are links to student discounts etc on the store page under purchase options.

Also keep an eye out on current specials, there are lots of great deals to be had.

We also have a Switcher discount for your first (or second) order when coming from another program. There is a payment plan option to spread out the cost as well.

my previous software wasn't 100% mine so I can't use this one.
