Close Accordance (not quit) & Open to Last Session

I thought this was a bug, but I've talked to tech support and they say I need to fill out a feature request.

On my Mac, when I close (not quit) Accordance using the red dot at the top of the program and then reopen Accordance, I want it to open to the same session I had open before closing (all the same tabs in all the same places).

My preferences are set to open to the last session on startup, but this does not affect the behavior of the program when I close and reopen Accordance. No matter what I have open, if I close Accordance using the red dot and then open it again my workspace is wiped clean and the program opens with only one resource/tab — the first text at the top of the text category in my library. This is, at least to me, unexpected behavior.

I know I can minimize the program to get it out of my face, but this is not my habit with other programs. If I want to clear my screen and focus on working with one or two programs, then I close other programs using their red dots. This keeps my dock clean and clear and also lets me reopen the other programs quickly when I want to. So I find myself frequently using the red dot to close Accordance, but when I reopen my workspace is wiped clean showing only my top text.

Again, I'm not talking about quitting Accordance and starting up again. I know that Preferences > General > Startup" controls how Accordance acts on startup.

On Windows closing all the windows quits the program. This is not true on Mac, you are simply closing the last workspace, not Accordance, It is stiill running as evidenced by the mark under it in the dock, as are most other programs. A few do indeed quit when the window is closed (such as system preferences) but most do not.

So you are asking that Accordance remember the last workspace closed and reopen it when you click on it in the dock? It has never done that. I sampled several programs on Mac and none of them supported this. If I closed the last window and clicked the dock, I got a new window or the dialog to select one. Many programs re-open the windows open when you quit and restart them, but I did not find one that did as you ask. I would think that if you close a window you do not necessarily want it to reopen when you go back to the program.

Does not 'Open Autosaved Session' essentially do that. Admittedly you have to select from the file menu. The only reason I would close a workspace or all workspaces would be to get rid of them. I would not expect my last session to reappear if I switched to another program then switched back to Accordance - you're not really opening Accordance just going back to the already running program. To me that would be unusual activity so if Accordance had this behaviour it would have to be configurable.

Why not just hide the program?  Or quit it?  I guess I don't understand dismissing the Workspaces, going off and doing something else for a while, then coming back to Accordance with no Workspaces open.  Why not either quit Accordance or hide it?  Not a big deal.  Accordance running but sitting idle doesn't slow down your machine, does it?  And Accordance starts up quickly, so it's no big deal to just quit it and restart later.

Just a bit puzzled about the rationale for this.  I am not running a pro machine, just a MacBook Air.  Nor am I editing photos, video, or even audio (or only rarely).  Basically, I mostly don't do the things that demand a lot of processing power.  But my little machine usually has 10-12 applications open at once without causing any problems at all.  Accordance is open all the time, never hidden, on its own desktop.  It doesn't get in the way and it doesn't slow down my machine.
