Cannot find hit with Null Predicate in place

  Acc 12.0.1

  Mac 10.11.6

 

  Playing with Predicate Nominatives I was looking into why I was not finding a hit for Jn 4:24:

 

“πνεῦμα ὁ θεός, καὶ τοὺς προσκυνοῦντας αὐτὸν ἐν πνεύματι καὶ ἀληθείᾳ δεῖ προσκυνεῖν.”
(John 4:24 Novum Testamentum Graece (New Testament in Greek))

  The search that fails to find this hit is :

 

 

  If however I remove the Null and Predicate from the Predicate Phrase then get it. The query that works and it's results :

 

 

 

  Looking at the syntax chart I would have expected both queries to work. I have also tried just adding the Null and that too fails to find the hit. Any ideas as to why the Null is not being matched ? Doesn't seem to be a depth issue as I tried up to 9 on the Predicate Phrase depth and still no good.
