Three Syntax Search enhancements I could use

Hi ya,

  Acc 12.0.1

  Mac 10.11.6

I am playing more with syntax of late as is likely obvious from my recent posts :) I am finding myself in need of a few enhancements.

  1. Leading NOTs and multiple NOTs in searches. I'm finding a number of cases where I wish to be able to lead with a negated element.

  2. I need to annotate the construct tabs with information beyond a simple description. As one example, when working from a grammar it is useful to annotate the search with an indication as to which examples in the grammar it fails to find. Explanatory information about how to modify the search for other operations would also be helpful. For example a kind of User Note index by the search tab name would perhaps serve. A user tool could serve of course and would have the advantage of being able to support links to said grammars and texts. But then I would want to know that such a note or tool entry existed with comments on the search tab I was using. So perhaps what I need is a way to add resource links to a construct tab - yeah maybe that would work, a place for a list of resource links, a brief annotation space that could point to a larger set of notes or tools.

  3. When examining a construct hit for a complex search it would be really handy to be able to mouse over the text hit and see which part of the construct search is what actually hit this word or phrase. In complex searches against text containing multiple embedded structures that look similar at the multiple levels it can sometimes be a bit of work to identify what matched what. This sort of cross highlighting, perhaps causing the relevant construct boxes to light up in a highlight colour, would really help here.

Thx

D
