Font size setting for export/paste

Hi,

I just realized that when I copy and paste Hebrew from Acc to Mellel, Pages, or Scrivener, the font size differs depending on how I've set it in Acc with the increase/decrease font size buttons (AA). Unless I am missing something in the Preferences, I would like to be able to set the export font size. What is comfortable for me to read pastes as Acc 36, but I always write in font size 12.

I did an experiment, and if I decrease the font to its smallest size, which I can't read anyways, it pastes as Acc 18.

Thanks for considering this.

Regards,

Michel

Sorry, you can set a default font for printing but not for export. Of course, in many programs you can "paste and match style" so that the pasted texts takes the charactistics of the context.

You can set the font size in Preferences -> Citation. Make sure you choose "Copy as Citation" when copying the text from Accordance, instead of "Copy".

Hi Mark,

Thanks. After Copy As > Citation, in Mellel you have to Paste Special > Paste Plain Text, in Pages and Scrivener you have to Edit > Paste and Match Style, and it does paste as 12 then.

Now, why doesn't Preferences > Export > Use default font (I selected Ezra SIL) work? I would expect that if I chose font size 12 as my citation preference, and Ezra SIL as my export preference, then I could paste as Ezra SIL 12. But, whether I simply Copy or Copy As > Citation, and Paste or Paste Plain Text/and Match Style, it pastes as Acc, Helvetica, or something else.

Let me explain why I'm asking for font size (and font) as an export preference, i.e., for a simple copy and paste without any extra steps. Many, if not most, of my searches return hundreds and thousands of hits, and I copy and paste dozens to hundreds of clauses from the results. Each time I do this, even with your solution, there are extra steps. There are more steps involved if I want to change fonts (which I do). But, a simple copy and paste, with preferred font, would save much time and work. I didn't want to say this before, but BW has this - you can choose an export font and size, so you simply copy and paste original language texts without any extra steps. But since I use Acc more for searches, I'd like to have the same in Acc.

As a compromise, it just so happens that Copy As > Citation followed by just pressing Paste in all three programs pastes it as font size 18. I wonder if anybody uses that size writing documents, and if it would be possible to change that default size to 12. I'm sure many, if not the majority, use 12, in competition with 10 or 11. I'd prefer 10, 11, or 12 over 18.

As an aside, I really like the Accordance Hebrew font, it's a lot like Ezra SIL, and I may be forced to use it on my Mac for a more efficient work flow.

Thank again, and regards,

Michel

Same thing here. I use copy as citation religiously and I always have to paste it as plain text. But copy as citation doesn't preserve the color of the HIT and of course pasting as plain text gets ride of that too. It would be nice to set the font for copy as citation and it be set, while also bringing over the color of the HIT.

My two cents.

+1
